Does anyone know if you can use the large stamps at their value and add to, to send overseas cards?

As you will realise mine haven't been posted yet :o

I'm all behind as usual (no rude remarks please! lol)
  • yes you can. i emailed royal mail some time ago because we had some stamps from family and wanted to use them for recorded delivery. i have copied the email reply below:

    ========================

    Dear Mr Fisher

Thank you for contacting Royal Mail.

I can confirm that you can use stamps to make up the total postage cost for
a Recorded Singed For item or any of our services. However, for Recorded
and Special Delivery items, you may have to present it at the Post Office
counter in order to have the tracking label fixed on them.

I hope that this concludes the matter for you: if you do need to contact us
again, please remember to quote reference number XXXXXXXXXXXXX

    Regards

The instructions in the covering letter say to post on next possible day if you can't post on requested date.

I had to do this last week because there was no way I could get out to my nearest PO.

If you don't want to carry on why not just resign. I am sure someone else would be happy to take over.

Surprised you have 2 parcels to post - I have only ever had 1 at a time. Do you get double the payment? If so, I'd like some of that especially if they are the large parcels.

Has anyone else received the Christmas stamps yet? I received 12 Christmas stamps in this week's envelope but not sure if they are standard ones or for large envelopes. Has anyone received the same or more?

I also got large stamps that were about the size of stamps for large letters, but did not say large on the stamps. Found them on the internet, they were issued in 2005 before the large letter etc system was introduced. Back then the Christmas stamps were all made bigger than the normal stamps but had the same value. Someone had a clear out of old stock.

My Christmas stamps were 'new' ones - Gromit posting his cards! These are ordinary first class stamps not large ones.

  • I've also received the Gromet stamps! I think I'll be keeping them.

Anyhow, weather and all, I don't know whether to be worried about staying on this panel now.
It seems every week I have a query as to have I been correctly logging mail on the system, or posting at the time I have. I'm sure one week I had 2 queries.

I've recently had another e-mail query to do with something received. Surely they would have given allowances for late arrivals due to snow? This one took me by surprise I'll admit.

Does anyone else have this on a regular basis? With or without weather delays?
I'm not a complete idiot!........... Pieces of me are missing :rotfl:
