  • Hi All
Just reporting back that I opened my current account in Sept/Oct (approved on 2 Nov); My £500 transferred on 4 Nov, and received the £100 without any challenging on 16th Nov.

    Very, very happy about that.

gjreeve: I was previously online with them because of my e-Saver account, and it works all fine - have just been on. I don't have any particularly lax security so it's not that. Good luck gj

Hi this is my first post so i hope i make everything clear enough.
My girlfriend is having problems with A&L, she applied for the account which pays £100 and referred myself also a couple of weeks later.
My own transfer went through with no problems at all but she has recieved a letter saying she doesn't qualify for the £100 payment as her wages have not been paid into the account on time.
She originally applied on Oct 24th 2009 but A&L didn't send the request to her employers until Dec 15th (Just before Xmas holiday closure) obviously delaying the process a few weeks also her wages were paid a week early because of the holidays so this went into her original Halifax account.
We think they've dragged their feet with the switch purposely to waste a few weeks over xmas, what makes thing worse is that she deposited £1500 into their online saver which she applied for at the same time proving she had the funds available! They also didn't switch all DD's, match her overdraft or pay us the £50 referral.
Having spoken to 3 operators with no help at all (They all sing form the same hymm sheet) we have decided to follow the complaints process all the way, please let me know if you've had this problem of delaying the transition.
    Sorry for the long post.

I didnt think switiching ur salary over was part of the criteria. As when I switched around November time I just requested my DD and SO to be switched and not my salary.

I got my £100 incentive a couple of weeks later.

Sorry i think it's just any £500 that needs depositing within 11 weeks and this would have come from her wages which weren't transferred in time.
    Sorry for the confusion.

if you can prove that A&L are at fault then take it further through their complaints process. they tried something similar with me, but I had transferred £500 in from a different account and changed my direct debits so they backed down quick.

after that, my advice would be to get the £100, pocket it and then get the hell out of there! along with Santander/Abbey into which A&L will soon merge anyway, they are one of the most hated and complained about banks on here.

I'm on my way to first direct as we speak...
