Alliance and Leicester Not Paying Out On Premier Direct Bank Account Offers

Can anyone tell me if they have received £100 or are expecting it and have a Premier Direct Account? I am convinced that when I opened this account in January, this offer applied to this account but, having queried it with A & L, they are now saying that its only applicable to the Premier Current Account and Premier 50 Current Account. I have nothing which I can refer to now this offer no longer exists.0

After writing to the Alliance and Leicester they have now put the £100 in my husband's and my account.:j0

i switched all my direct debits to A&L Premier account within the first month of opening the accont with them, which is way within their 11 week deadline. I was told by branch staff that i would get 100 in cash 4 months after the account opened with them. 4 Months went by and i had received nothing . So i rang through to their customer services department who advised me that someone will look into the matter and get back to me. I received a letter from them a week later informing me that i do not qualify for the cash back offer as the account i have opened is a premier direct current account so this type of account does not qualify, it only applies for the the Premier account!!!!!! I was told by their Branch whilst opening the account it applied to this one and they even had posters stating this at the time. Anyone else having this problem????0

I'm having exactly the same problem and have received a letter from them stating this only applies to their current account and not the direct account. I was told not only by members of staff in the branch that this did apply to this account at the time in February they also had adverts up in the branch stating this. I'm having the same problem trying to find evidence to prove that this was the case on their direct account too.0 -
I was paid the £100 at the end of June but only just realisedPay One Debt 2012 £130/£130 :j0

Hi everyone,
I just wanted to add our story to this thread. We also got the letter saying we didn't qualify. We followed up with a phone call and the chap at customer services couldn't see why we'd been sent the letter, then we got a second letter saying it was all a mistake, then the £100 was deposited (this is about 6 weeks after opening the account).
I'm convinced this was just an honest error as their second letter suggested but Mrs Spamtastic is more cynical. However, this error is just one of a handful of issues we've had that really has made us wonder if we did the right thing moving to them (despite the bonus).
All our DDs were listed on the transfer form, I'm looking at a copy now, and we received a letter from A&L saying all DDs were transferred successfully, but two weeks ago we got a letter from our gym saying the DD was not paid. Sure enough when we logged in to check, the DD was not listed online. The annoying thing is that we bagged a preferential rate at the gym and this could be in jeopardy because the DD was not paid on time.
Another annoyance was that when Mrs Spamtastic called to activate her debit card she was given the hard sell about buying fraud prevention insurance. It really gets on my nerves when sales spiel is pushed on to customer service calls.
The most bizarre annoyance for me though was what happened to our savings. We already had a savings account with A&L, which was linked to our old current account. Initially, we tried to link the savings account to our new A&L current account online but couldn't find how to do it. We sent a secure message to ask if they could do it for us. Their reply was that we must call the 0844 number to do it. We called the number but were told we needed to speak to the savings team but that they don't work on Saturdays! We finally got to speak to somebody a few days later only to be told that we could not link our savings account to the current account! Instead we would have to open a new savings account and link that to the current account. What a bureaucratic waste of resources! Weeks later and we still don't have our savings transferred to the new savings account. The old savings account is linked to a current account that they closed as part of the switching service.
A letter of complaint is on it's way.0 -

I am having the same issue. I only agreed to move to A&L due to the offer. I went through quidco, and on the A&L homepage I clicked on the offer to use the transfer system and receive £100. They are now saying I have selected the premier direct and not the premier. Although I selected the icon for the offer and they opened the appropriate account as a result.
I wrote and got this reply via messaging:Thank you for your e-mail regarding the £100 incentive.
I see that you have opened a Premier Direct Current Account but this incentive is only available with a premier Current Account
If you have any further questions or need any more help in the meantime please do contact us again.
I replied and said I clicked on the icon on their homepage to receive the offer and they have replied again by saying:Thank you for your e-mail.
I can confirm that the advertisement for the incentive states which accounts are eligible for the payment. Premier Direct accounts do not fall into this category and the system refused the payment.
I do hope you find the above information useful, however, if you have any further questions or need any more help please visit our ‘Help’ section online or contact us again.

You are very lucky, it clearly stated that you could not transfer from a Santander group account, (only reason why I didn't apply)Originally Posted by Dr Cuckoo3
