Maz, you do what you have to hun, it is not making light of anything, you are taking care of your little family and who wouldn't do whatever it takes?

Thanks everyone for the kind words and advice re the shiite job. There is a job which closes this week that I WANT. I haven't applied yet to get this essay out of the way but I am going to, and if I don't get an interview, then I'll resign. The job is as a family worker so in a different direction but similar field, just more of a 'making a difference' than the paper-pushing I've done since maternity leave. It's also less hours so would give me more time anyway. But this is one job and I have been looking since Jan so if not this, I am not hanging around for another six months getting more fed up.
Oh and I DID MY ESSAY

it was ok in the end, just shows what 5 days of intense cramming can achieve - well I imagine the mark will be dire but I don't care! It's done and the relief is immense.
I'm going to make some tuna pasta for lunch, need carbs after the stress...0 -
Sounds just like my relationship hun (as you know!) Good for you, you do whatever it takes for you to get top of that list, get out and move on!
If I can help at all for your trip let me know, I mean if you don't mind sleeping on the sofa bed in the sitting room your welcome to stay with us for the whole week?I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....
Finally Debt Free...0 -
Sorry the point about resigning, the job is internal so Elliot could stay where he is - that's my problem in a way, the nursery goes with the job otherwise I'd keep him there 1 day a week ad have a break but if I leave, he has to leave. I feel bad because he likes it but then when he is 3 he'll go anyway, like Sally says...0

Maz, just caught up on last night's chat, well done you for being brave enough to bring it out into the open. Hope it is all onwards and upwards for you now, there'll be stumbling blocks but you will get there xxDebt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0

Maz - How do you think Erin will take it all? On the flip side regarding your mum, I assume you'd get extra child tax credits towards childcare...which could work out well.
Just been sitting in the garden, under the parasol as I'm all blistery and itchy on my arms again - grrrrrrrrr @ sun allergy thingy....had my legs in the sun tho and they've coloured up (just the shins - how attractive) in about 10 mins. Had to come in tho - far to hot, even the breeze is stiffling.
Oh and just picked 10 strawberries off my plants and had them all warm from the sun covered in sugar......delish!"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
I agree too Maz, if you can stick it out then do so......
Peeing down here now
Don't send the rain here please Sammy - I really must mow the lawn tonight.
Hope it all works out quickley for you Maz. You are very brave. I'm sure it will be for the best.
Really fed up now. My shop looks like a disaster area and I am sick of negotiating and grovelling.
I had a letter today from 1 of the credit card people declining my offer of £1 a month as it does not fit their criteria.

Pooky, did I ever get back to you about whether the Piz Buin stuff worked for me? It does.

DD when I was a small child my mum put me in playgroup once a week at the local city farm - v cheapness, lots of outdoors and lots of other children to play with - anything like that nearby??
But it does sound like this other job might be just the ticket anyway - now the essay is done you can concentrate on applying

Thanks, I'll have to try some... I normally only suffer for a week or two at the beginning of summer, this year I seem to have it constantly, upper arms, forearms and have the hugest most yucky blisters on my chest now too....
Glad it works for you....I shall investigate further."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Just been out to listen to the free band and it was sooo hot I had to come back in...
Maz - I pay half my income on rent and bills and its a real killer...
it is hard.... i can remember when my outgoings (bills and debts, never mind groceries and petrol) were more than my income... so i know i have come far.... but the thought of spending £750 of a £1200 a month take home pay on rent is horrifying...
i'll be okay financially, even on the above rents but i don't have a safety net for deposit n so on... plus i want to go on holiday. <stamps foot!>
Pooky - i don't claim anything for afterschool care, and there is nothing local so i'd need to move Erin's school to one with afterschool access and then i could claim more....... at least come friday we have 7 weeks to not worry about childcare as it was all taken care of....
Erin was going to Big G's mum for a few nights next week, oh joy. i wonder if that will still go ahead.... despite the fact that me n erin see her every few weeks and he has seen her once this year i think... she'll come down on his side of the fence i guess.......
might pop in and see her tonight as she lives where erin does her football training....I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0
