of course we're gonna press the like it button! we're a bunch of huggies!

do we still get called huggies? For the benefit of those who might not know, DFW's have a reputation for being a caring bunch, aka Huggies. Or so we're called in other threads....

not a bad reputation to have really!

Squizz I had planned to go back to my job full time at school when I was on maternity leave and had DD booked into a nursery. Then once I had her I decided that I would go part time and they were ok with that and I extended my maternity leave to take the extra 6 months unpaid. When I went to settle in days at nursery I just couldn't leave her, all these babies crying some left that way because they were dealing with others and it broke my heart. I decided that I would leave my job and handed in my notice. When DD was about 17 months old I popped into shop (where I now work) and was having a chat to Boss and she asked if I wanted a Part time job, it felt like the right time as DD needed interaction from other children and people. She was just under 2 when I started back at work and I think it did her the world of good and gave me some sanity too..best of both worlds I think. I was glad to have had those 2 years at home although financially it was the straw that broke us but I wouldn't have changed that as time with her was more important than money

Sounds like you got the balance just right for you :) I've always said if I have kids I would ideally not want to work for the first few years, probably because I have such good memories of being at home with my mum around that time, still makes me feel all content and smiley thinking about it.

Happy Birthday Spud, hope you have a lovely day xxxx

Sally - I went back to work when my DD was 18 months old, like you went back PT, was a good balance. My DD starts school in Sept also, am dreading it in a way but excited in others!!

DD - I think you should do what your heart is telling you, life isn't a rehearsal and we should be happy every day.... if only hey!! But seriously, be happy xx

    Maz - Hugs xx
