Thanks for that MB.

Well, the good news is that the accommodation really is first-class - you can read any amount of reviews elsewhere. It is not for me though - rather like spending your holiday on a posh housing estate.
The bad news is that you will have to sit through a long sales pitch. You just have to be extremely resolute and refuse to be suckered-in regardless of anything. This depends upon you as an individual.
I regularly take advantage of these "fly-buys" and have some smashing cheap holidays, but I am very thick-skinned and have never bought in to the idea at all regardless of any promises or incitements to join. It is an experience not for the faint-hearted or easily swayed."If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken

GOD! you people are soo thick!!! I understand why you should be wary when you recieve sales calls but I work for club la costa and we never ever ever ever have ever ever in the history of mankind ever have said to any one ''You have won a FREE holiday'' ever! so stop saying you recieved a phonecall from us saying you recieved a call telling you that you have won a free holiday, because your lying! Club la costa resorts are amazing you get given your own private apartment or villa and you can bring 4 people with you and its just 30 quid each and that includes your flights there and back and you'll be staying there for 7 days , how is this a bad thing or a con , like soo many people on here have said we are? I'm actually gutted that I don't qualify if I was married or was 25 or over Id go out of my way to do a club la costa survey, I'd love to stay in one of their resorts! also something else that really really reallllly annoys me is when people complain about us calling and call us cold callers, excuse me you gave your number out in a survey, if you dont like recieving phone calls about sales and promotions then simply dont give your number out in surveys! aint hard is it!0

The "thick people" to whom you refer are your potential customers. This sums up your concern's attitude, does it not?
They give out their telephone numbers as they are entering a prize draw.
The number is not given to receive a sales pitch, and as such these telephone calls are quite improper and are completely unsolicited."If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken

No mugs bought your rip-off timeshares today hey??0 -
I've just returned from a 5 day holiday at Duchally, and had a wonderful time after being offered a free holiday.
You do have to endure a 2 1/2 hour presentation, which for me was great fun, anyway.
The number of lies told and the ease with which reps can be caught out is wonderfully enearing.
As long as you keep in mind that everything - and I do mean everything you are told is a lie or a sales pitch, there is no pressure.
At the beginning of the presentation you have to converse through loud background music - keeps your attention, stops you hearing what the other reps are saying.
It's a bit like musical hairs for salesmen. Ask an awkward question, such as why the presentation at Duchally is for 5 star venues when Duchally is only 4 star, results in a change of rep.
When things get really difficult, such as pointing out the offers that Duchally make are really cheap without timeshare, results in a "telephone call" from the management.
Moving the presentation from room to room is a blatant attempt at disorientation.
Stock answers to help shorten the presentation are to say that you don't normally like holidays but this one was free so no risk.
Reps do try to make you ashamed of "taking advantage" of CLC, but I simply pointed out that during the phone invitation I stated that I wasn't interested in timeshare and they still allowed the booking.
Generally the third party argument works well. Just tell each rep that you are going on what the other rep told you earlier. Keeps the reps confused and they get fed up.
Hotel Duchally is a great venue, and we'll being staying there again - without help from CLC.
I could easily attend any number of these presentations, but my wife is not keen, so we probably won't go next time we're asked.0 -

Well done John! A smashing post which will help others thinking about scamming the scammers.
This is not for the faint-hearted or the gullible though."If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
