Excellent value but only offer half of what the salemen want for vacation points

I think it's wise to not hand over your CC details to anyone who phones you, regardless of where they say they're calling from.
If you are interested in the company they said they were from perhaps someone from here who has dealt with them has a contact number?0 -
I've been a Club La Costa member for almost ten years, and there are good holidays to be had from them. Admittedly if you buy into it at a high price, the value isn't so good, but the owners themselves buy and sell from each other when they've finished with the product. This could mean they've no money left, retired, divorced, family moved on...etc Or just plain unhappy at not finding the Owners Website run by the Owners themselves. Its at https://www.clcmembers.co.uk There are forums where you can join for £5 for the whole year. Much better than paying the Resale Organisations large commissions or paying Club La Costa about £15k for their points, when you can get it from around £1000 upwards. Sometimes even for free, except when you have to pay a Transfer fee which is minimum of £400. Talk to the Owners themselves, there are about 2600 registrations to date.

My mother in law informed me that she had won a holiday for 4 at various places in England, Scotland and Tenerife. She offered this holiday to us as a gesture of goodwill. We have since found out that she had been called to say she had won the hol from CLC then proceeded to give out her credit card details and pay £99!!!!!!!!! obviously alarm bells rang immediately to me. After reading the threads on here it seems we may have got a genuine weekend away with added pressure of sales patter included, our main concern is that they have her card details, we need to know exactly what else they want from her, will she loose any money????0

This practice is usually an admin fee.
If you can stand a two hour presentation and say no, then it will be worth the holiday. Be careful though if you choose Tenerife, you will have to pay flights. I've been with Club la Costa for almost 10 years...and only last week they rang me saying there were some Free Flight offers going, if I had any referrals. I've sent referrals a few times, and they've enjoyed it. One even bought into the system, and another bought from an existing member from my Owners Website where there are almost 3000 registrations.
I hope that helps you, but I would contact them and ask them to send you confirmation of what you have got. Putting it in writing is the best way forward. There are strict rules on information stored regarding the card details. I wouldn't be too worried about that, but if you really are, again you can ask them for assurance that its no longer held on the system.
Cheers

Naaa! :-). Much more exciting than that. I've stayed at a lot of their resorts and although the Films they show are good, and although the resorts are actually what you see in the films...folks shouldn't get caught up too much in the Sales Hype. Always good to sleep on these things, and of course now that there is a very aware community who know how to get the exact same product for a fraction of the cost, it would be crazy not to buy through that route. In fact, being on a Money Saving Site, from the emails I've received, I've helped save people over half a million, just by informing them more fully of the product. We're about to meet as a group for the first time in the five year history of our site, at Birmingham on 16th of May, so we are excited. A cynics are welcome to come along as well! :-) We are not selling anything!0

I have been told by CLC that ive been picked for a special promo where by i get an apartment for £39 for the week for 2 people which should normally cost £99 per person. The reason for this offer is so that we have a great holiday and then tell our friends and family how much we enjoyed it!
Spoke to my mum about it and she said DONT they hard sell when you get there!its not worth it.
So on precaution i wont go ! have i missed out on a cheap hol?0 -
I was targeted by CLC for several weeks and I think the rep only just gave up phoning me last week. She started off by telling me I'd filled in some online survey and had won the opportunity to have a cheap holiday, either in the UK or in Europe. I listened for a while and then tried to say I wasn't interested. But she KEPT ringing, and she wasn't based in the UK or claimed she wasn't anyway, said she was in Spain. Anyway, to get rid of her I gave her an email address to send some info to but it never contained any info on prices or availability and she kept saying I had to phone a hotline and quote a ref no to make a booking. She was offering my family a mid-week or weekend break at one of two exclusive family hotels in Cornwall for only £9.99 per person and all I had to do was to attend an afternoon tea and listen to a presentation with no obligation to say 'yes'. As soon as I heard that it screamed "timeshare" to me and I fobbed her off. She's phoned several times since and now I just let the answerphone get it... As the saying goes, there's no such thing as a free lunch and I hate direct sales of any kind. Don't fall for it I say!0

Just be aware, that many people do take advantage of this. I know because I interface with over 3000 owners and prospects of Club La Costa. Don't go, if you can't say no. Many do feed back though, that they weren't high pressured, but I think everyone is different. One thing is for sure, its a cheap nice break if you can take the presentation on. Many of the people who go, just say..."I've seen the same price for much cheaper on the Club La Costa Members Website" ... and of course they have, as many people sell their Membership on Resale via our site, and are happy that they got it at a fraction of the cost. Remember...not to cut your nose off to spite your face" !0

Suggest you look at the Diamond Resorts is it a scam page and read the horrors that these people cause!0
