Has anybody else had a letter from CLC World regarding the opening of their newest clc world centre in regent street? Comes with a £75 shopping voucher / free holiday and sales patter no doubt. Have no interest in the holiday but the voucher would be nice. I assume we would go to regent street, sit through sales patter for a few hours and then get our voucher and holiday award? As stated earlier I have absolutely no interest in the sales product - just see the voucher as a nice bonus!

I think my time is more precious to me than sitting in a presentation for several hours with what will almost certainly be very high pressured sales tactics - just to get a £75 voucher.
Maybe not very MSE of me, but Hey Ho!0 -
Be aware, a £75 voucher might be 15 x £5 off when you spend £100 , or something like that! It's possible to make vouchers sound more attractive than the reality.0

Hi,
Has anyone just taken the 'free' holiday that was being offered and not signed up to the timeshare? If so how long was the presentation that you had to sit through whilst on holiday? What time of day was it? And was it far from your hotel? - just trying to work out if it is worth the hassle!
Thanks0 -
How long have you worked in the Timeshare Sales operation? I used to work there too, perhaps I know you?I am a cow so cannot speak Bullshine but I do recognise its smell when I come upon it.0

We went on it and i must admit the apartments... no should i say luxury house we stayed in was amazing with our own pool and outside jacuzzi and the resort was fantastic - very worthwhile so dont believe all the nay sayers - the only downside was the tortuous 5 hour presentation where we were dragged around the whole resort to check out the place - we had no intention of buying as its really a bit of a con and very expensive , they give you the real flim flam - we were introduced to a so called celeb who worked with Arnold Schwarzenburger or some other famous star on some movie - I hadntg a clue who the knob was but they use this to try and persuade you its a worthwhile buy - there isnt one trick in the book they didnt try and pull - when i told them i was a police officer with the serious fraud office - i was kidding - they dumped us and treated us like we had some sort of disease - when they realise you aint gonna buy you will be like la merda under the sandal - that was kinda nasty - we were however offered the opporchancity to turn down the tour but being a stirrer i videod the whole thing and recorded the whole sorry flim flam - i wish i hadnt bothered as it was 5 hours in the searing sun of Club La Costa Fuengirola - lovely place shame its right on a main motorway with a rubbish beach and the town centre was so full of criminals and gypsies trying it on - and the locals were rude , expensive and downright offensive so my advice is stay inthe resort - visit the castle - and go elsewhere like Nerja or Mijas or Gibraltar for your days out. For £75 ITS WORTH THE HASSLE!!!0

See my reply lolly5429 - its worth it.
5 HOURS was the presentation in the searing sun at midday in the resort so not far to walk - we were actually driven in the car but obviously not back to our apartment after we declined tghe offer - in fact the guy was downright hissy after we said no - I have an audio of the whole thing all 5 hours of it - if you are old you might have a heart attack. I hesitate to say this might be part of the game to make you tired and befuddled in the sun so beware - you can never tell these days people and companies are so devious anything is possible.
The voucher can only be spent in the resort so i spent it on breakfast, meals and foodstuff in the shop next to reception - the British staff were great and even the foreign guys were magic but the Spanish have some sort of chip on their shoulder - most disappointing - When i asked one of them he said and i quote "how would you like to serve british tourists all day" - i felt like saying - how would you like british toursists to stop coming like Egypt then you have no job. Ungrateful sods.
Being nosey git and budding investigative reporter i found a resident and asked him why it was so cheap - the reason is because half the resort is empty - people have cottoned on to the Timeshare and pseudo timeshare costs and penalties etc and they are having a hard time making money - in the resort we were lead to a large lounge where people were being hoodwinked into signing contracts at the end of their tour - god i felt so sorry for them all - mostly cabbage patch and blue rinse brigade ie pensioners who were probably just signing up to make it end lol
If you pay by credit card - a little tip - get a credit card before you go to pay for it all - then cancel the credit card when you finish on the last day of the holiday that way they cannot take anything from you if you are worried about that aspect but i can confirm they were honest and no money was taken after we returned and the vouchers were legit.
Go and enjoy your week and when it comes to the presentation politely decline and you will have the rest of your day to enjoy the sun - or rain as it happened on a few days we were there but it spoilt nothing the resort is very well maintained and the accomodation was top notch as were the uk staff.0 -

.. Sounds lovely.. I think I'd rather have a very bad weekend at butlins rather than put myself vaguely near a " town centre full of gypsies and criminals" . Some people will do anything to get something free..
I don't understand why you said you asked the locals why it was so cheap? What was so cheap. In your previous post you say it was expensive?!0
