As I understand it the money is to come from from, among other places, transport budgets.
Is this bad news for HPs? It seems to me good news for the social housing lists and those eligable, and as far as I've thought it through a good thing.
And its going to create 45000 jobs.

It has to happen, irrespective of who is in power.
The national stock of social housing to too low.
Schemes that encourage more and more people to buy "affordable housing" are not sustainable.'In nature, there are neither rewards nor punishments - there are Consequences.'0 -

"British homes for British claimants". It ain't going to win him the next election. tbh - we all know he's lying anyway - he has no policies, no money and no idea really. If this was such a good idea why did he not do it ten years ago? End of argument.0

He cant shut out the non british born if they have recourse to be here ( for example EU) .
In fact, you cant get a tenancy if you have no recourse to be in the uK, the whole thing is simply playing on the "they jusmp the queue) ( even bar the fact that most Local Authoritiyes dont even have a queue and havent for a few years :beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

What is the alternative? The shanty towns of South Africa? Unfortunately there isn't the New World for multitudes of people to move to as there was in the last century. I really wonder what the UK is likely to be like in twenty years time. Even providing basic social jobs on the basis take a job or starve may be too expensive to maintain, actually in all probability soup kitchens would be much cheaper anyway. It is a bleak picture but an entirely possible scenario to see a large sector of society in effect scavaging for a living.0 -
>What is the alternative?<
Take the measures to reduce the skyrocketing number of single occupancy households.
+ Reform the tax/benefit system so it isn't every 15 year-old girl's dream to get pregnant for the council house and the benefits.
+ Make it again economically advantage for couples to marry and stay together in the family home.
+ Chuck out the illegals
Anyhow it's not the housing per-se that's the problem, it's the legions of malodorous chavs from the underclasses who will take pleasure in shi**ing in their own sty.
With global warming, they could all live in trailers/tent cities. See my previous postings about creating internal exile zones or 'bad lands' for the 5,000,000 who embody Broken Britain.0 -

Surely there is a more civilised way for the country to descend into poverty?0 -
