It isn't every 15 year-old girl's dream.
Some aim to marry professional footballers.
There are plenty of 15 year old girls whos dream it is is to be a doctor, a politicians a barrister, a soldier,a pilot, a researcher.
It is certainly NO WHERE near every 15 year old girls dream to get pregnant and live on benefits. It wouldnt even cross themind of teenagers in my family, who aspire to acadmic careers and already have part time jobs and savings. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

I'd also suggest there is a middle ground of young women who would like to fall in love and marry well enough to support a family on one or one and a half wages but are also able to read the big words in the big books. There are a thousand shades of grey in this, and one could argue strongly its not a new development but rather established, rather over used but appropriate Austen quote ''It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife''. That it should still be the case that money added now with fame, as opposed to scientific and medical prowess, is sad. That the ambition of some girls is to wear the killer heels and not to wear the killer heels while having a life is rather sad though.0 -
If the Govt borrowed money to build houses, with no private individuals making a killing on the rent profits, then overall the housing benefits bill would be cheaper than if people were claiming for private rents. Private rents are higher and cause LHA top ups to be needed for a lot of people too.
Overall, I think it's important they build more, but there's justification for taking borrowing the money directly against the Housing Benefit budget and repaying themselves with the savings.0 -

When I was 15 I was asked: "Do you want to be a secretary, a nurse, a hairdresser or work in a factory/shop?". Easy choice from those four - hairdressing was what those that couldn't read/write did at our school, I feel ill/pass out if I think about blood, didn't want to work in the local jam factory, so I became a secretary.
Didn't know about other jobs.0 -

You have misunderstood me.
That was the point I was making.
Albeit, in a more sarcastic, less stating the obvious way.
Maybe it was a little too subtle for some...:)Favourite hobbies: Watersports. Relaxing in Coffee Shop. Investing in stocks.
Personality type: Compassionate Male Armadillo. Sockies: None.0 -
Brilliant, were now seeing him nick ideas from the BNP!
What I am hoping though, as call me a snob all you like, is they stop this mixing of social housing in with private.
It's causing untold nightmares and misery for people. You can't just put two different sets of people in the same area and expect it to just work and everyone to get on. They don't.0 -

Why? in our village the cottages used to ''service'' the big houses, likewise, in cities, the modest now desirable cottages were relatively humble dwellings once. Its not a mixture of social groups that worries me at all its the shoddy architecture.0 -

Well people dont service each others houses anymore.
It's very simple, and in the case of talking about these sort of things, I am very frank and to the point without minceing words to dilute them. So sorry if I offend anyone here. I'm not trying, but I also won't just shutup about problems that are out there, but should be seen and not talked about.
When someone is living for nothing in a home they care less in most cases, which is why we used to have slums, no one can deny this, there will always be the person who looks after their place, but unfortunately these people are overun by rabble.
When someone is living in areas where if you kick something down, some magical person will just come along and put it back at no cost in any way to you, you care less and will have no issues in kicking it down or vandalising it.
Stick them in with private owners and you suddenly have those trying to care for their homes with those not giving a !!!!!!. Kids kicking their ball up your wall. Playing hide and seek behind your car on your drive. Damage done to surroundings.
The reason we had slum estates is because these people were doing this to their own environment to themselves.
Now, they are doing the same things, but to other peoples private, paid for through hard work, properties and surroundings.
It's unfair. Especially when you have to come home from work and drive past all those sat in their front gardens under their beer garden umbrellas having a wail of a time while their kids are kicking down the wall which you have to pay the service charge for.0
