I've got flights to Malaga booked with Ryanair for next March for £24 total price for two returns for my wife and myself.

Are you saying British Airways can beat that?

As far as I know we are not standing and they are not charging us £1 to use the toilet!!

If that includes booking fee, payment fee, checkin fee, baggage fee, any tea/coffee/breakfast. Then probably not. However, I suspect it isnt.

Im curious how you only paid £6 each way for tax though...

I fly to Dublin next Tuesday and paid £1 for my ticket there and £1 back.

    Thats £2 all in.

:confused:I want to go to New York in March next year. It is a special surprise for my husband's 50th. I want to take advantage of the BA sale but I want to fly premium economy and pick my seats now. Unless I am a Silver or Gold Tier member they say I cannot do this. I am only a Blue member. As the seats are really an important part of the flight, does anyone know a way round this? BA used to do it, but not anymore they tell me, I can only pick seats as a Blue member 24 hours before I fly which could mean the seats I want are not available. All inside info welcome.

not strictly true, flexible fares, gold silver and premiers and First Class can all pick seats in advance. Premiers can pick any seat they like which includes shunting someone else out of a seat, eg gold silver and flexi fares.

    Hi,

Any experts know of any upcoming BC sales for New Zealand & Oz?

I know that Cathay Pacific have a sale on now, but was wondering whether BA will have a sale again .... wanting to go at the end of August for 3 weeks.

    Mark

No chance of another BA sale until September. Check Flyertalk on the NZ and QF forums.

BA premium economy seating is 2-4-2 or 2-2-2, which are the special seats you want?

dependant on destination and therefore aircraft type. Certain rows there is just the one seat!

The 767 service from Manchester to USA used to be the best for Premium Economy, 2-2-2. RIP flights from Manchester :(

does anyone else have trouble getting a free flight with Virgin air miles.Every time I choose a date to go they dont seem to have any flights .Is this a con !! I thought a free flight meant a free flight.I now hve quite a few airmiles and cannot use them

I got one for 25000 miles May 2010 (Orlando)

You still have to pay taxes though so cost was £178

You have to book well in advance to get seats with VS as there is only a small amount of availability, far less than eg BA. You are better using your miles by buying a Virgin Economy Plus ticket and then using the miles to upgrade to Upper Class as you rightly said, you have to pay the airport tax and fuel duty anyway. Check VS forum on Flyertalk for best use of miles/finding availability.

Yes, aware of this, was describing generally and not including exceptions.

Virgin dont guarantee seats either, you just select a preference.

BA have had the seating policy for a while, there is no way around it but you should get good availability at T-24 through On Line Check In. If you want to check what seats are already booked check Expertflyer.com
Unfortunately it is a subscribe site and for a one off, not sure it is worth my while but I will see if my boss is a member and he can look for me!

First ever post...lol So any help really appreciated. I am looking for an inexpensive flight to Boston, or Bangor NE states area. Looking to go ASAP, They all drop to around £300-£350 during Sept, but ideally would like to go sooner. Preferably flying from Manchester. Thanks

Boston is listed in the Virgin sale as £279 from the 25th August, not a great deal sooner but still...
