  • Idiots lol, looking through all the examples of stupid prices and shortcuts quoted on this thread and checking ebay myself the picture with 10 coins seems to be duplicated rather a lot......hmmm surely people dont think they are getting real ones?

I have a couple myself which I was going to put on ebay but it sounds like there is a few crazy bidders who are not going to pay the price just bidding for the fun of it. But does anybody know what people are willing to pay though. Thanks

I was planning on listing mine but im not going to while things are like that! Seems some people are wanting to buy houses and all sorts from their 20p's :rotfl:

Seriously though, I would be well chuffed with £50 :D

I dont know why people are paying over £300 for a 20p, 1500 times its original value. Im still not sure if they are still paying them that amount for them or just pranks. And not too sure if they will receive the item and write to ebay saying they are not the original error, keep the coin and send another one back.

I thought the buyers were placing false bids but then I found a forum with someone saying they bought and paid £65 for a undated 20p and another for over £100 I think but it turns out it is a normal one so im not too sure now.

I reakon the buyers of the normal 20p's are bidding to stop anyone stupid enough to bid, winning them

here is one that made me laugh it doesn't even tell you what you are buying !!

Bwahahahaha! It does actually - right at the end.

" ... note: the coin you are bidding on is only similar to the error printed coin. But HAS the date 2008 ... "

And note the size and colour of the text they used too! Someone "Bid" £18.00 for this! Haha! Bet the feedback is going to be brilliant, assuming it was a real bid.

Well I checked all my 100 odd 20p coins as I always keep change in a jar and no joy . Would of been great if I had some :(

But will tell all my friends and family just in case.

Errr...yeah, I'd already pointed that out in the post directly after the one you quoted
  • We checked our purses, wallets, money pots and piggy banks when we heard the story on Tuesday, with no luck.
Thought there was no chance of recieving one in change with all the hype in the news.Oh well:confused:

Then OMG,,,,,I nearly cried when she came home from school yesterday and showed me 'THE COIN':j:j.
I have checked, checked & checked again, but there is definatly NO DATE ON EITHER SIDE:T

She was given it in change while buying toast at school!!

The local paper are running a story on her and her lucky find!!!

We have discussed that because she recieved the 20p,she can chose what happens to the coin.
Ebay it is destined for, with the final selling price going into a trust fund for when she is older

good luck to others in tier search xx
