    Hi all

I've been reading your thread but I have not actively joined in as I don't have a lot to lose but I could do with slowly losing a few excess pounds to be comfortable in my clothes.

Anyway the reason for my post is that although I am ok with the meals my problem is the wrong snacks. I have a sweet tooth so I wondered if you lovely dedicated people could give me some tips of what I can eat while watching tv.

I've read some of you eating meringues are they better than a chocolate bar or a bag of crisps?

Thanks, I hope you don't mind me posting.

    KM x

    Welcome, KM :)

I've got a horrid sweet tooth too - my lifesavers are lower cal chocolate bars (milky ways, curly wurlys, weightwatchers bars, etc), skinny cow ice cream lollies, meringue nests (couldnt tell you cals.. im sure someone else can.. but they're only half a point on WW whereas a chocolate bar is 5, 6 or more!), and in this weather lots of ice lollies (they're sugary but a lot less cals than chocolate!!).

There's lots of lower cal crisps available too - Walkers Lites, Walkers Baked, Sunbites, own brand etc.. most have less than half the weightwatchers points of 'normal' crisps but I couldn't tell you actual cals as I don't use them. Homemade popcorn is a good choice too - heat a little oil in a pan with a tight fitting lid, pour in no more than a single layer of popping corn, lid on and shake regularly til the popping stops! Then sprinkle salt on. It helps a lot with the salty snack cravings :) You can get air poppers too which would remove the need for oil.. must get one of them sometime.

Not a happy Dragon - after a good couple of weeks I have been back on the medication, the heat means I don't want to eat much and I have put on 6 flipping pounds :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

  • Just had a quick scout through, tara, i love meranges (sp) for got that i liked them gonna stick them on my shopping list.

Struggled last night, usually have a glass or two of wine on a weekend, and had a tough week so i would have enjoyed it, but i resisted. struggling with the sweet thing aswell. Yesterday ate a big bag of rainbow drops aswell as a nobbly bobbly. Not feeling great today, think i may be coming down with tonsilitis, which is great for weight loss, not great for hubs as he has to do more round the house (he doesn't mind) and entairtain the kids!!! I have been to bed today for two hours, (how many calories does sleeping burn again???lol)

Not a good day, honey nut cornflakes with skim milk, bacon and egg roll for dinner. A huge bowl of ice cream for me tea....i won't mention the lion bar..........i'll get me coat..............

Well I dusted myself off and started over! Dr Dragon and I went through my food and I haven't been under eating by that much AND I have had enough fluid so the only thing that caused the weight gain was medication , so I need to keep plugging away and hope the cooler weather (not cold - just cooler!) arrives soon so I don't need the medication so much!

Hope you've all had a lovely weekend.

I'm due to WI tomorrow so will post my (hopefully lighter) weight then. My clothes are feeling looser so I'm quite hopeful. Although I've probably jinxed myself now! :rotfl:

I haven't had a bad weekend food-wise although today we did go to OH's parents for a bbq but I was good and didn't overindulge which I normally would have done. Had a couple of glasses of wine with lunch to de-stress from a busy working week. No dinner which I know is daft but I'm feeling a bit anxious and tense at the moment thanks to the neighbours from hell!

Aw Dragon big hugs to you, hope you're soon feeling better and medication-free for a while. :D

See you all tomorrow morning for the weigh in xxxxxxxx

    Morning all xxx :D

Had my WI this morning as its a brand new week and I've lost 1 lb, so I'm super chuffed. Just need to up my exercise for this week as totm is coming so I'll be bloated and feeling rubbish. A couple of weeks ago I took some pics of myself in my undies  so I could compare them as I was feeling frustrated about not losing anything. I took some more pics last night and you could really see the difference so I'm obviously doing something right. Still loads of work to go before I can even think about donning that bikini though. Maybe taking measurements of my thighs, stomach, waist etc is the way to go as OH reckons I'm not losing weight as fat is turning to muscle. We'll see......

Fairyshazza - best of luck with calorie count - I downloaded the toolbar which I found really helpful although I haven't used the food logs lately, I do find it useful to know how many cals certain activites are burning.

Have a lovely Monday everyone, I'd better go and do some work! :rotfl:

Well I have made my lunch this morning and bought it to work with me today. I’ve got a lovely mixed lettuce, watercress, beetroot and chive salad with tomatoes and chicken. Not quite sure what I’ll be having for tea tonight yet as I will be off to Aquafit later so won’t be eating until I get home from the leisure centre – need to think about that one during the day.

Am determined that I will try my hardest to lose some weight this month. I’ve got a wedding on 24th July in Italy and if I could lose a little weight before then I would be very happy. Am going to get my !!! to the gym and up my exercise alongside eating well – fingers crossed it will give me some results.
