I used vouchers that were just about to run out ,(nearly 2 years old) are you saying you can only double up on the vouchers that arrived in May ?
Nope you can use them as long as they are in date, it's just that most people spend them before the vouchers get 'old' LOL!

No, older vouchers are fine but the idea was that being able to double up on Wine and Champagne was only a launch offer. Clothing, cosmetics, skincare and fragrance, toys, baby and toddler are permanent offers that you will be able to double up on. Flowers and gardening is also a temporary launch offer.

I have just looked at the clubcard site though and it now says that wine and champagne is continuing due to popular demand so it looks like they may have decided to keep this one going into the next vouchers arrive - I will have to check if this only applies to online orders of wine by the case or will also be available in store. Sounds like good news. I was simply going off the original information made available but it looks as if they have changed their mind - due to all the wine we've been buying!

Everyone seems to forget that you have not wasted £15.00 x 4 cc deals @ £60.00. On the next mailing I would gain back 1081 points for the 7 bottles worth £43.24 in deals...

...Which you'd get whether you paid in points or cash...

What am I not understanding here?

You took something that was worth, potentially, £60, you traded it for £30. You've "wasted" £30...There's nothing being forgotten here, there's no shrewd math you understand that we don't.

Even Martin advocates that if there's something you'd want in the 4x deals, this *is* the best way to spend your points.

Of course I accept that there are people that don't want anything from the deals, in which case they'll have to take a 2x or even 1x face value trade...and this may well still be a "good deal"...but if you do this you have to admit you've *not* gotten the most bang for your buck.

Thanks for this. I thought I was going mad when people were saying they were using the double up vouchers earlier. Unless you have no need for any of the deals surely as you imply it's better to pay in full by card/cash and not trade in your vouchers for 50% less than they are 'worth' in deals.

Sorry but I'm afraid it isn't. I work for Tesco and the double up offer on wine and champagne is only for the recent May vouchers. Each time they will have a temporary offer for that mailing on a certain department. Double up is here to stay just not on wine.

I have the same mailing and if you look next to where it says "what can I spend my double up rewards tokens on at Tesco" next to Wine and Champage there is a footnote saying vouchers must be exchanged for double up vouchers by 30th September. It is definitely only a temporary offer.

It's a shame. Doubling up for wine was great!

No I'm afraid thats not the case as of now. Doubling up on Wine and Champagne has now been extended until further notice, due to how popular it was with customers. (It was the most popular double up category from the initial launch.)

This is detailed on the Tesco website at http://www.tesco.com/clubcard/deals/browse.aspx?N=4294965087

You will therefore be able to use your August vouchers on doubling up on Wine & Champagne.

Edit: Sorry spark79 never seen your later post - put it is continuing on wine by the case and in-store due to how successful it was initially, and this will run until further notice. Think it was that popular they know they were onto something good.

    Hi
Does anyone know what date the 25% off wine ended? I never received my discount on my delivery last Wednesday 8th July and when I emailed Tesco they said that the offer had expired before my delivery.

I look at it this way, I traded 1500 points doubled to £30.00 for the 7 bottles and paid £1.40 in cash. Ave £2.59 a bottle ( 419 x 4=
    1676 + 140 = 1816 divide by 7 = £2.59
I am rewarded 1081 in points for my purchase which will come in the next mailing in the next few weeks.
I have only lost out on 419 points for the entire purchase and £1.40.
I weighed up the pro's and cons and decided a small sacrifice of the points outweighed the cost of paying cash for the purchase approx £31.40
In todays economic climate you have to speculate to accumalate..
