I know I'm being thick but I fancy going to Tesco today to give it a go and can't quite work it out.

Does it work on any Torres wine?

Do you need to use a voucher to get the doubled up points or is it automatic?

    Ta

Red, White or Rose - yes. The shelf edge label will confirm the offer (150 points)

You are confused - It is not the points which are doubled up, for each bottle you get 150 extra points. The double up comes from the CC vouchers you currently have. Take them to the customer service desk (direct desk in some stores) and they will convert them to twice their value in multiples of £5 for use on wine specifically

i.e. hand over a £10 voucher and get back a £20 voucher which can only be used on wine.

Anything left over on your voucher gets converted back to points to come back on your next mailing - if you had a £7 voucher, you would get a £10 voucher to use on wine and 200 points (the £2 balance) back in your account.
Who or what was I before you came in to my life
    I am not sure

Theres another point worth noting here...

with every deals brochure issued there are fewer and fewer 4x the value offers

I was saving up for something big, but I think i am too late. I doubt they will ever offer anything as valuable as MFI furniture or a car from motorpoint in the 4X section again.

I dont want a "cheap day out" so doubling up for wine is a compromise in my opinion!

ps I reckon goldsmiths the jewellers 4X offer will be pulled (or reduced value) next.
    Well said puddings.

First I used to spend my Tesco vouchers to reduce the cost of my shopping.:o
Then, I discovered MSE, and listened to Martins wise words re Tesco Clubcard points;)
So I used them for magazine subscriptions etc.- worth four times their face value.
Then I discovered the Magazine thread,:j and would never bother wasting my Tesco points that way now. Way too expensive.;)
I had a wallet full of vouchers - which I have doubled for gardening/BBQ vouchers.
I have just managed to get quite a few bits in Tescos sale, massively reduced - at least 75% off, and used these doubled up vouchers.
So I am not complaining if I didn't get 4 times their face value at Lego land etc.....there are always deals and vouchers and tokens etc flying around this marvellous site called moneysavingexpert.com.
you will find you never have to pay full price again;)

Horses for courses - some people very happy with twice the amount of drink from Mr T when it is on this type of offer, other happy to get four times the face value of Mr T points against FULL PRICE mag subs and days out.

I still have friends who use them against their general shopping bill:eek:
I keep telling them, but will they listen:shocked:

I have to say here- I spend my points on shopping (grocery) and I will continue to do so.
    Why?
Because none of the deals work for me.

The magazine sub is the only thing that comes close, and to be honest, at £3 for 3 issues plus a free gift on the magazines I actually want to buy, I'll stick with getting them elsewhere- Tesco do not have these offers.

I do not buy clothes from Tesco oweing to what I feel as poor quality- and I really do not like most of them that I see. Some underware seems good, but I do not need any.

Drink? I would never be able to get through a full bottle of wine! and despite being many many years over the age limit, I have no photo-ID so am not allowed to buy any anyway.

Toys? no kids, holidays? no passport and no one to go with anyway., jewellery? yes, but but the store they offer IMO has brassy-ugly stuff and the designs I prefer are hand made by people I know in person, ...the list goes on.

I can save money by spending them on food though, and tbh, I see no need to change what I do.

Remember- what works for you, may not work for everyone else. I'll stick to saving money on food!:o

I think the Johnson's deal was better in terms of points per £. The stuff was also easier to store & sell at a car boot :). The missus put a stop to my talcum powder warehouse plans though :(.

Beef in Gravy was pre-Mrs thepearce so there was nobody to tell me not to buy 1,200+ of the things :). We're not wine drinkers (then again I don;t eat beef) so only bought 12 in this offer :) Still got as many points now as I did after that what with general collecting. Had a great trip to Edinburgh with practically everything (hotel, meals, attractions) paid for with clubcard deals vouchers.

One thing I haven't seen mentioned recently is car servicing / MOT at nationwide..... that's what I'll be spending on next I think. Approx. £40 clubcard vouchers for a service (£160).
  • If like me you're frustrated because you manage to constantly miss the Vina Sol or any other wine thats on offer as it's all been bought up by the time you get there then, providing you are buying more than 6, go to the customer service desk and they'll kindly get it in for you. I ordered 12 bottles and went in 3 days later and it was all sat there reserved in my name. No need to go back and forward trying on the off chance that some will still be there.

    Cheers

Had a Tesco Clubcard / Healthy Living mailing today and it reads "Double up is here to stay" including wine and champagne. So maybe still more cheap wine on the cards.

    :j:rotfl::T

Sorry but I'm afraid it isn't. I work for Tesco and the double up offer on wine and champagne is only for the recent May vouchers. Each time they will have a temporary offer for that mailing on a certain department. Double up is here to stay just not on wine.

I have the same mailing and if you look next to where it says "what can I spend my double up rewards tokens on at Tesco" next to Wine and Champage there is a footnote saying vouchers must be exchanged for double up vouchers by 30th September. It is definitely only a temporary offer.

It's a shame. Doubling up for wine was great!

I used vouchers that were just about to run out ,(nearly 2 years old) are you saying you can only double up on the vouchers that arrived in May ?
Never pay more than you have too
