Hi all I would like to be involved next month if thats ok, starting on the 1st. My budget will be 150 for the month. Do any of you have a recipe for cheap chicken and veg soup as I will have to make a chicken last for 3 meals and a soup, never stretched a chicken quite that far before should be fun!

Took a load of old clothes to the charity shop but resisted temptation to buy anything at all today. We need a couple of things but I knew if I went in a food shop I would spend more than I needed so I stayed out.:j

Tonight's meal was leftover bolognese with a handful of oats added with a glass of white wine. Simmered for half an hour then poured over cooked pasta in a lasagne dish with grated cheese on top. Cooked in oven for 15 mins or so and served with garlic bread. Quite tasty and very cheap!:j

I've taken someone elses idea on here (can't remember who sorry but thank you whoever you are) and have printed out some A4 sheets with a weekly meal plan template and space at the bottom for the shopping list. I've included Lunch ideas as well as the evening meal. Hope this helps me to keep focused and organised!

    Hi

I have totally lost track of this month - not very good of me for a first time. I know we spent alot more than the budget so for August I am going to withdraw the money and thats all we will have to spend.

Can I put myself down for £300 for August please

    Thanks - Helen

Mine has been a nightmare this month and its only my first. Got tempted by lots of good offers so I might be well over budget but I do have a very well stocked cupboard with loo rolls, shampoo, bin bags, DW tablets etc so shouldnt have to buy any next month.
Have to get some bits tomorrow aswell so will update my spend then ......

We’re off on holiday first thing Saturday morning :j, so I have been using up the stuff that’s in & as a result I managed 5 NDSs in a row! :D

Did the final shop of the month today & really only needed some milk. But I couldn’t resist some whoopsied locally produced pork & leek sausages & some Cumberland sausages & reduced cheese. All safely tucked in the freezer now.

I reorganised the freezers & one is now just meal portions & one is ingredients such as meat, fish, veggies etc. The rather empty fridge is making me a little uncomfortable (even though it is necessary) but both freezers are still choc-a-block – could probably live from them & the storecupboard until Christmas!

Really, really shouldn’t need anything else, but won’t declare just in case. Tiny amount left in budget in case need milk.

MrsM - I'm declaring for July at £139.99 this at £10.01, is a chinese takaway under, but instead I'm spending it on having DD2 come round and helping with the cleaning as I have done something to my back and the house is in need of help.

I start my August GC tomorrow with a trip to Asda so I had better go off and make a list or I will be buying loads of stuff I don't need:D
