toochoosey, feel free to ignore me but I am not suprised you are struggling if that is what you are eating for lunch, it reads like a punishment rather than a meal, sorry. It would depress me totally and I would give up. I flatly refuse to eat scan bran or to live on muller lights. For breakfast I had Muesli and skim milk (HE's), for lunch I had a chicken with lots of salad sandwich on wholemeal bread (HE) stuck together with a scrape of low fay mayo, followed by fruit salad. For dinner I plan to have more cold chicken and salad. If I want something else I will have a banana. I will use my syns on a glass of wine with dinner. Do you read/post on the slimming world thread at all? I don't post but I do read and find it very useful.
I take that back, I was having chicken salad but that stupid pesty puppy has opened the fridge and has eaten the rest of the chicken . Good job he didn't pinch the wine too.

tooch - hex is right. You need to eat properly. Lots of fruit and veg (more veg than fruit) and a sensible amount of carbs, protein and fats. And increasing activity is generally the most effective way of losing weight (assuming you're eating sensibly, so find a reason to go for a walk... I'm going out for a quick walk round the block once my next freecycler has been).
Yesterday I ate:
Breakfast - glass of fruit juice, 70g homemade muesli, 1 portion fruit, 100g yogurt
Lunch - 100g smoked mackeral (caught and smoked by my dad on Wednesday!), slice of bread, tomato and rocket salad
Snack - toast & jam (oops!)
Supper - 50g (dry weight) pasta with vegetable sauce (I batch cook this - aubergines, onions, tomatoes, courgettes, peppers, spinach and whatever else is about) and a bit of goats cheese
If I'm going to the gym I have a banana straight afterwards, and if I'm at work I generally have a salad with a handful of pasta, rice or quinoa and a bit of chicken/smoked mackeral/flavoured tofu/hardboiled egg and some sunflower seeds.
I have dried fruit or plain rice cakes as afternoon snacks when I'm at work. I try to drink green tea/yogi tea and avoid the coffee bar and constant cappucinos and lattes!
If I'm eating late, I'll have chicken stock with noodles (I buy these at the healthfood shop and get ones made with all sorts of different grains) & spinach as its nice and light.
If you're eating at home at lunchtime, soup is good as it helps you stay full during the day. Cold soups like pea and mint are delicious in summer (and incredibly easy to make!)0 -

Do you mind my asking - are you trying to lose or maintain your weight , and how much exercise do you do a weekTIA
Only 2 more jobs to do to get my gold star, so I'll keep moving, so that toots doesn't catch me
See you all tomorrow, Penny. x:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0
