Blooming gutted by the man now, though did nearly 'fill up' watching roddick being all emotional. Ah well such is life - you win some, you lose some.
DD1 been upstairs since I've got home, heard hoover as well, didn't know she knew what that was LOL!!! :rotfl::rotfl:
DH had been up there before I got home and helped with putting up blind and shelves - cos as he says wouldn't trust her or BF to drill properly and he'd only have to sort it out once something went wrong
Hugs to all, whether you want them or not, so there!! xxTo love and be loved is the greatest happiness of existance - Sydney Smith0 -
Ewww... DD1 just got back from school trip this week with a suitcase full of wet, stagnant clothes. She had an activity week, y'know sailing, kayaking, etc and now I've got a stinking caseful of washing to do
Oh well, here I go.......I need direction to perfection...0 -
Jo - I'll wish you a happy birthday tomorrow!
I'm having a frustrating time trying to find a cutlery insert for either a 300mm or 400mm kitchen drawer... does anyone have any suggestions? B&Q's website claims to have them, but the pictures don't match, so I'm reluctant to order them (plus I quite fancy nice wooden ones!)
I picked up a nice wooden cutlery tray a few years ago from an upmarket store (think it was a House of Fraser type) but it was slightly larger thas 300mm x 400m. Might be worth looking on the Debenhams or John Lewis sites - they're not cheap mind...carlsberggal wrote: »Is anyone else stressed watching Andy Murray? Blo%dy stressed at work all day and now this. Nope. I'm steadfastly ignoring the tennis!
Boddy - I've done the sleep through the storm bit before. Talking tonight to NN, I mentioned the fireworks I posted about the other night. She, it seems, was so deeply asleep, she didn't hear a thing!
Mrs Dawn - you're doing extremely well considering you've just started. Don't bust a gut over the weekend, it will all come together in time.
Greenbee - you sulk away about the stars, I shall just bask in the glow of all five of them - nah nah na nah naaaahhhhh
Met with Gordon and NN. It was at her house tonight. We sat in her conservatory and the temperature was almost 80 degrees. Tooo hot by far really. But we put the world to rights. Am now going to rustle up a Soappie Special which includes bacon, garlic, tomatoes and pastaI am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Soappie - was gonna ask what NN meant, but think my befuddled brain has finaly worked it out! Nextdoor Neighbour? Too right to of ignored it, just did my head in and after work today could of done without it.
One applicant had viewed a house - asked what vendors lowest accepting price would be as didn't want all the faffing about with haggling in his words 'let's cut to the chase', managed to get out of vendor £193,000, so the numpty offered £180,000!!!!!
Then an applicant offered £149,000 under the asking price!!! Is he having a laugh or what?! Vendor went mental when I told him, but by law I have to put every offer forward, no matter whether I know they won't accept. That's just 2 examples. Told colleagues that I'm sick of being 'nice' and having my 'cheery, god I love all the sh£te your talking' voice on!!! Penelope_Penguin wrote: »Do you mind my asking - are you trying to lose or maintain your weight , and how much exercise do you do a week
TIA
My exercise is erratic - yesterday I didn't go to the gym, but did go for a short walk and ended up with a step count of just over 11000. In theory I should either go to the gym, swim, or have a long walk or short run every day, and on most days do two of these with a couple of yoga or pilates sessions during the week as well. In practice it doesn't always happen! Mondays are generally good - I usually manage a walk or swim in the morning, a run and then yoga and maybe pilates as well... and then it's all downhill from there! As we're tracking step count for work, I know that my average over the last 43 days is just over 12,000 (so about 5 miles). This is up significantly on the normal office day (an ordinary day before the challenge started was about 3000, assuming I did a bit of flying when I got home )
I know that on the food front I either tend to go way over or way under my 1500 calories, but I do try to weigh my food now in an attempt to get it right! I know that the 800 calorie days are just as bad for me as the 2500 days!
I'm hoping that an improved work/life balance (and trying to ignore the stress, which I KNOW makes me hold fat round my middle ) will make it easier to exercise more and eat properly and regularly! Any suggestions as to how I can shift the stone I need to (and the other 2 that my GP says I should but my physio says I don't have to) would be appreciated!
Freecycler was late to collect all the wood, so I dropped off the other stuff, it turned out that it was my late next door neighbour's grand-daughter who wanted it. I've also managed to shift another neighbour's pasting table which has been in my garage for a couple of years and she doesn't want back, so that's going tomorrow, and hopefully the rest of the stuff will go to the person who wants everything, although she keeps ignoring the suggested times I send her and wanting to come over now... whereas I can't be bothered to pack the stuff up right now and want to have a relaxing evening!
ETA - enjoy your stars soappieThis not working full time for anyone in particular seems to suit you
Carlsberg - someone offered my parents £200k under the asking price, despite the fact that they hadn't actually put their house on the market and the buyer had been told that as they didn't particularly want to move there was an amount they'd have to offer them to persuade them to do so0 -

Soappie - aah at least I was nearlty right. I had neighbours like that once, were nbrilliant and like 3rd set of grandparents to my three. They all used to hand over wall shouting 'are you playing Geoff?'!!! If he did'nt want to he'd tell them, but boy he had the patience of Job, and even taught them all to ride a bike down his drive. Bless them, still see them now.
And I've seen 2 kestrels tonight!!!! - are they a couple I wonder? And I have a flock of geese every morning fly over, sometimes only 2 of them sometimes 6 of them, fabulous xTo love and be loved is the greatest happiness of existance - Sydney Smith0
