It finally feels as if I'm making progress!! Front lawn is mown, downstairs floors are now drying, so I'm going to do a few bits upstairs, then get changed before my friend gets here for our walk. I'll have to pick up my shopping at the end of my walk ...

    I read this in today's paper :

Some 6,538 Britons were confirmed with swine flu as of last night. Three have died, although they had underlying health conditions.
Sharp rises in cases have forced the NHS in some areas to adopt emergency measures.

London, the West Midlands and East Berkshire have been declared hot spots. This means cases are spreading so quickly there is no point trying to contain the disease.

People will not be individually tested and schools will no longer be closed. Tamiflu will only go to those at risk of complications.

Much much too hot here for me. I ordered an air cooler yesterday and it came at lunchtime! Making it a bit more comfortable for my poor old dog. It's OK as long as you can sit still in one room, which I can't :(

Why do I keep doing the extras and not the stuff on the lists :confused:

ETA - Monday's list finally finished... friend is running late so might try to get a cupboard in the kitchen done while waiting. I've also put the mower away, brought the washing in and sorted it, retracted the washing line and put the pole away, so the garden (apart from the roses which need deadheading and the bindweed which is everywhere) looks reasonably tidy!

    See you after my walk...

    Afternoon all!

It's all over now, and I can finally enjoy my birthday!:j Lots of things went wrong, but I showed that I can cope under pressure.

Forgot my memory stick, but had sent a backup to my email address (ok then I thought) .... their internet wouldn't work! So, luckily I'd had the sense to print off my handouts and lesson plans etc in advance, so busily typed up the learning objective on the laptop, but then the whiteboard wouldn't work! Had to just read out the learning objective instead, but made sure that the Head was aware that I knew that Ofsted would prefer it to be displayed so that the children could see it. Children were really hyper as they'd had a supply teacher in all day, but I calmed them all down straight away by being firm but friendly - they all loved the lesson, particularly the boys, who requested extra flowers on my way out! :p

They won't let me know until tomorrow, as they have a staff meeting tonight so won't be able to discuss us all until tomorrow.

Off to find that chocolate in the fridge to declutter a bit of the kitchen now.

Thank you to LadyLiberty and Froddy for the lovely cards - I got them when I got home, so that was a lovely surprise. Also thanks to toots for the text too.

Will be thinking of you on Friday LadyL and hope you're feeling better soon.

I will fly tomorrow, as I think I've earnt a day off on my birthday. Hope that is ok miss pigpen?

    sexymouse xx
