Jo - for cheap BBQ food make kebabs - you can buy a lump of meat, cut it up, bung it in a marinade and pad it out with plenty of veggies. If you're marinating then you can buy a cheaper cut that will benefit from 24/48 hours in oil/wine/herbs (or lime juice, soy sauce and honey if you want to avoid the wine).

    oooo good idea greenbee.

    Thanks....

    Right.

Ive been sat here thinking about what I have at home and I think I may be able to do MOST of it from what I already have at home......

I have chicken breasts, sausages, and some peppered grillsteak type things in the freezer.
I also have a large bag of corn on the cob in the freezer
I have rice, pasta and cous cous for making side dishes/salads etc
I have fruit salad in the freezer and Ice cream
Ive also got the stuff to make houmous etc and some pitta breads
I can also do homemade salsa etc......

So I think I can get away with only having to buy fresh salad, some burgers (for the kids), bread rolls, some meat for kebabs (I have mushrooms, cherry toms, and baby corn at home) as well as wine and a cake.

Not as bad as I thought!! :D
