  • Thanks for that Competitionscafe, i will await a reply, yes i think i linked to the US site, I have also registered a complaint with the FTC and econsumer.gov. I am currently writing a letter to The Sun newspaper asking for them to look at what is happening on our so-called safe internet shopping sites, i have explained what has happened to me give them lots of details with regards the scum bag Jesse Willms etc i honestly believe that with the coverage they get and word of mouth the readers would provide would hit at least two thirds of the country. i think if they promote it right "coming soon expose on internet advertising scams and the sites allowing them to continue" they could do a 4 page pull out for readers to save with alsorts of info. I hope they help but first time i have ever felt so raged in to doing something like this.
Anyway competitionscafe as i stated in an earlier post thank you very much for all your work you have provided me and everyone else on here with very valuble information.
Will keep you all posted on my reply from the Sun.
    Good luck all

    Beware Extreme White free offer

    By Andrew Penman on August 26, 2009 7:33 PM | 63 Comments

This is becoming a common way to get cash from online shoppers.
A company offers a "free trial" of its product, and you give your credit card details to cover a small postage fee.
Then they take much more, saying you agreed to regular supplies at full price.
A mysterious US-based outfit called https://www.extreme-white.co.uk - "teeth whitening system of the stars" - has a trial like this for just £3.99 postage.
Jason Delaney of Trowbridge, Wilts, replied, then had £59.99 taken from his card - yet there was no warning of continuing costs as he ordered the trial.
But on a separate page, the terms and conditions explain they'll keep charging unless you cancel within 10 days.
Jason got his money back, which might be thanks to his numerous emails of complaint.
Good thing too - he never even received his free trial.
Update November 11 2009: more news on this scam here.

    und it.

  • Another reason to avoid the online teeth-whitening offer

Extreme White is a scam - official.
Since exposing the "free" online offer for this supposed teeth whitening product (original story here), we've heard from scores of people who say they've been ripped off by this outfit.
The snare comes after you give your credit card details to cover postage, only to find £59.99 deducted.
Extreme White is part of American company MP Innovations, run by New York "entrepreneur" Shawn Partain.
A previous gem of his was the "Body and Sole Patch" which claimed to detox your system with wood vinegar if you stuck it to the sole of your foot.
Now the Advertising Standards Authority has ruled his Extreme White promotion misleading and said that it must not be used again.
The company insisted that the complaints were the result of "misunderstanding on the part of consumers".
Presumably that must mean misunderstanding the word "free" to mean not paying anything.

PREMIUM WHITE seems to be the new name for this same product, so beware! Thought I'd do what I SHOULD have done the first time and GOOGLE it. How interesting! Only glowing reports! Seems that after 1000's of complaints via Google, the company changes the brand name and hits Google with hundreds of 'miracle' stories which outweigh the negatives. Clever eh? I'm gonna try contacting Google to see what they can do. Meanwhile, could WE all continue to expose PREMIUM WHITE (latest new name - even though the've used it before, they seem to run in a cyclical fashion)
Don't let the !!!!!!s get away with it!!!

If you Google his name: http://www.google.com/#hl=en&source=hp&q=jesse+willms you will see that he has also written blogs about:
    Metallica
    Harry Potter
    Television
    Wine and
    Britney Spears (and others!)
(most likely in an attempt to get those pages to rank in the search engines for searches on his name rather than all the pages about scam complaints!)

You would think he had better things to do with his time - like doing something about all the thousands of complaints about his company perhaps??

Also if you go to Google.com and start typing in Jesse Willms you will see that Google suggest automatically suggests Jesse Willms scam as one of the searches! :D
