Shoe fitting a nightmare for adults too if have narrow feet. Clarks now only stock D and above. So heard about Medissa shoes, Liversedge. Travelled miles to shop and bought 4 pairs, AA shoes. Next day wore one pair and realised too small. Have Inflammatory Arthritis and feet vary in size day to day and within day. Finally found narrow shoes and can no longer benefit from them. Tried to return the most expensve unworn pair and shop said no refund but give credit note. Sent shoes by Rec Delivery. Now shop sent me email and letter, one contradicts the other but both say shoes 'been worn' and won't exchange. Very unpleasant letter and not true. They say in email soles are damaged and so they are unsaleable, but in letter say that both heels are 'worn' Neither done by me. Only tried left foot at home, cos bigger foot, and not off thick carpet. If any damage it must have been pre-existing, poss from other previous customer trying in shop, altho I didn't notice any damage.(Did see a pair of black shoes on shelf with tear to lace hole though, even though they claim all shoes checked) Now they want more money if I want them back. They got my money, I paid extra to return as requested, now they got the shoes as well. How can I prove I did not wear them or damage them?0

I can recommend The Bawtry Shoe Company, think they've got a shop at Newark and Grantham too. Whilst the shoes aren't cheap they do fit properly and the staff are great.0

You can't unless you have pictures of the shoes... I would fight them tooth and nail though and get quite stroppy about it and all! Tell them that the shoes YOU returned were "unworn and undamaged" - obviously they have been checking someone elses shoes. The ones YOU returned were xyz.
Unfortunately you don't actually have any rights to a refund as you bought them from the shop - they may however offer you a credit note depending on the store policy.DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

I don't buy Clarks for my DD. I had her fitted at Clarks for her very first pair and they were wrong - too big her feet kept slipping out. (it was a Clarks within a Mothercare).
My local store is like a cattle market and it feels very rushed - here try these they might fit etc.
I'm fortunate enough to have an independent shoe shop within 500 yards of Clarks so I go there, they stock Clarks but DD has never been fitted in them it's either Hush Puppies or a European brand.

Well I'm fed up with Clarks all over again.
Just a small (to me but not to my daughter) gripe. This is the 3rd time we have bought shoes/sandals from Clarks and had something missing from the doll things that are supposed to be in the sole of the shoe. This time it was meant to be a dolphin I think and the pod bit was empty ..... again.
Since the shoes were not on display, I'm beginning to wonder if the staff are helping themselves for their pals kids.
This weighs heavy when you're young and your friends are at school swapping their doublers and you have nothing to swap you know. :rotfl:Herman - MP for all!0 -
I throw the toys away! I was told to when he was under 3. They shift about a lot, and his shoes were never comfortable - he can't manage to sort it out for himself so it's easier to not have them.
Do all the school kids have them? I saw an advert on one of my mum's sky tv channels, and they made the cars look like a hot wheels ad or something, all exciting.52% tight0 -

As usual the ads are better than the reality! My DS has never had them as I don't rate Clark's shoes at all, and he's certainly not the only kid to not have them.
What I DO know is that teachers don't like them, as it's just a diversion in class that the children don't need.
If it really was such an issue, I'd rather buy ds decent Start Rite shoes which actually fit him, and spend 75p on a Matchbox car! (I've not actually told him this part yet as he's just happy enough to get the shoes!)0 -
I don't know if it has been mentioned but why do Clarkes never have enough stock at the end of August, and never have enough staff to cope with the back to school rush. I have never had any problems in Start rite for good service and their shoes definitely last longer in my experience.0

*waves*
Sometimes the shoes have previously been on display.....possibly.
Your local shop would be happy to give you whatever is missing if you pop back/call them.
Well, I would
I'm starting to think I'm the exception to the rule.
*slinks back into corner*Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...0 -
I do actually think you might be the jewel in the crown Quacks.
There's no way the shop will give me any, I'm not even going to ask. :rotfl:Herman - MP for all!0
