Is anyone else fed up with Clarks?

Clarks is a nightmare!! They never have the right size that my children need and always feel im being given something that isnt quite good enough, like a bigger size to get the width!
The toys inside are a total pain they have been banned from my childrens school so whats the point?? the kids nag for them because they want what their friends have but they are not allowed to take them to school and if they do they get them taken off them?!? (not that i blame the teachers) It's just a way for clarks to sell more rubbish shoes at a higher price!Hello my name is nahteb20 and i am a T's Glitch & Bargainaholic.......0 -
Well I'm fed up with Clarks all over again.
Just a small (to me but not to my daughter) gripe. This is the 3rd time we have bought shoes/sandals from Clarks and had something missing from the doll things that are supposed to be in the sole of the shoe. This time it was meant to be a dolphin I think and the pod bit was empty ..... again.
Since the shoes were not on display, I'm beginning to wonder if the staff are helping themselves for their pals kids.
This weighs heavy when you're young and your friends are at school swapping their doublers and you have nothing to swap you know. :rotfl:
We lost a dolls arm a few years back, when the doll shoes first came out, and I emailed Clarks head office - they sent us a whole set of dolls free of charge! (However, if everyone on MSE does this they probably won't!).
We went for the usual annual chaos at Clarks last week. DD got measured as a 13F, and tried on some shoes. She was undecided and said to the lady we'd pop to the other shops, and come back if she decided she wanted these ones.
Half an hour later, we went back and saw a different lady. Told her she'd been measured 13F, and which style we'd tried/wanted. She fitted them onto DD and said they're far too tight, and we'd need a G!
Her feet had grown a width in 30 minutes! Amazing!
Luckily, they didn't have the 13G in stock, so we went to Brantano and got some lovely hush puppies instead!:beer:0 -
As others have mentioned Clarks now have a facilty to order (long overdue). You can order on the internet and they will text/email you when the shoes are in for you to try.
Or you can go in, be measured & if no shoes in store the store can order for you too.
This may be a daft question, but here goes:
I see there is no delivery charge if collected from instore but do I have to pay for the shoes in the first place, or do I pay instore if they are ok?0 -

Not daft
You dont pay for the shoes until you collect them instore.
There's no obligation at all...if you dont like them/they dont fit etc then they just get returned to the stores stockSometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...0 -

Thanks for the quick reply!
That's a good service then! We are off today to get dd measured and will see what they have, safe in the knowledge we can order some online if we have no joy! :j
I don't go into town very often and I hate getting there, after parking and all, and coming away with nothing time and again.
DD spent her last few weeks of term in shoes with a hole in the seam and virtually no toes, as I went three times around whitsun time and couldn't get anything, and then decided it wasn't worth it so close to the end of term. They fitted ok, but she is heavy on shoes so they looked terrible!
They didn't say a word about ordering them in! Is it a very new thing?0 -
After about 4 years of Clarks Hell I decided I was more than capable of deciding whether my childrens shoes fit or not, so now I just sort school shoes out myself from wherever appears good quality at a reasonable price. Its all guilt tripping at Clarks - revolt like I did, you will feel proud
Plus my children arent limping yet either and it's been many years now!Cogito ergo sum. Google it you lazy sod !!0 -
Well, I've just been and bought school shoes and pumps for dd - she's happy and I'm happy.
She is very happy because she wanted Bootleg ones, for the cards they are giving away, but I'd told her she is still too small for those. But, she has grown a ful size since June so she got her Bootlegs after all - and the cards!
I'm very happy they have done away with the massive heels they had when dd1 was that age, as she was only seven as well and couldn't pick her feet up in Bootleg shoes!
They used to have a couple of pairs of dolly type shoes but she couldn't have those either because she has very thin ankles but quite a wide foot - it was a right pain until her legs caught up with her shoes!
That's another job ticked off the list!0 -

I did this last week with shoes from the online sale (for myself). I got a text message every 2 days to say they were in stock. They didn't fit, so I didn't pay52% tight0 -
Our kids' school shoes have to be black. We always think it's pointless looking at what's on display as they hardly ever have the shoes we pick in the right size.
Told the assistant what to bring out (ie:- black shoes suitable for school). One of the pairs she brought out were pink trainers!
We ended up having to buy those daisy shoes with the stupid toys in the heels, which we didn't want, but they didn't have anything else.
We are going to get new shoes next week so wish us luck.Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £26,322.670 -
