Hi guys, hope you are all well?
Went to Mr T's and got my newspaper's and paid for them with the coupons from yesterday's paper's etc - no probs at all.
Then went to the other store (the one who sent me the policy & letter) and did £31.xx of shopping (all grocery). Found a SA who I had before and she started scanning all the coupons (including the Daily Mail and £5 Lidl) - all fine. Then came my internet ones. They wouldn't go through she said till told her "Coupon not allowed yet". Now this has always happened with her, never anyone else. So she told me to go to CS and get them scanned there. No problems I thought as I was armed with the store's policy.
At CS I got a young man who did not have the 1st idea about what I was saying. Told him I was in the other day and spoke to DM and showed him the policy etc. He said I will have to go and get him then said "Oh he is right behind you"
I joke not I turned around and I was nearly touching him  He heard every word I said. Thank God I didn't lie
Again, he spoke to me in the middle of the shop floor. I moved away to the side but he would not follow meaning he was talking very loudly which was embarrassing
Ok end result is he told me that he had been away and done some "investigations" of his own and I cannot use any internet or printed (pdf) coupon's unless I am buying the product stated on there or unless there is an ID number. I said this contridicts the policy this store follows he said "Well I have spoke to the person who only deals with coupons for Tesco in Head Office, you can't get any higher than that, so you can't use them"
He refused to tell me who it was, what the department was called and most upsetting was he stood with a cocky smirk on his face the whole time
Can you guys advise? I feel like he is making up his own rules - I could be totally wrong here - but he isn't even the Store Manager.
How can I get a verbal apology and points from 1 store then be spoke to like this from another?
Sorry if this is a bit overdramatic lol, but he made me feel 2 foot small (and ironically I am taller than him lol).
I want to write an email or letter to clarify the situation and to complain about my treatment. Can you guys help, especially those who have done this before me?
Bare with me as I am still trying to get the policy uploaded (with VC'S help)
Thank you xxx0 -
would anyone have a pdf of the yeo valley coupon that just came out - I have requested download from their website 3 times but it doesn't show and no email or spam. if it is not breaking the rules would really appreciate your help.Life itself is the most wonderful fairy tale - Hans Christian Andersen2012 savings:remortgage £156.15pcm £5 pcm insurance reduced; 2012 Running totals: £10 goodwill requests/Grocery Coupons £12:T0

sorry about your experience moyilla - I can't understand why some SA/DM take such pleasure in stumping us - how very embarrassing for you. Think you should ask for appointment with manager of store to sort not only coupons out by attitude of staff.Life itself is the most wonderful fairy tale - Hans Christian Andersen2012 savings:remortgage £156.15pcm £5 pcm insurance reduced; 2012 Running totals: £10 goodwill requests/Grocery Coupons £12:T0

I don't know if this has been posted as haven't had a read thru the thread since y'day but the £5/£25 non food voucher of today from the DM scans on grocery items too if the minimum spend has been achieved; just used it @ T's... the other 2 vouchers (£4/£20 clothing & £1/£5 plants) will only work if the product has been purchased! Have also posted this on the newspaper thread... HTHS0

JulieK1313 wrote: »My domestos and grotbusters scan - but my coupons print out quite large - half an A4 page.
I open them in preview and then use file - grab - selection and select just the actual coupon.
This then opens in a new window as a snapshot and I click to print - in the print box I untick the centre image box, Select 2 images per page and tick 2 copies per page. Then print.
Each A4 sheet has two coupons on it, each half a page and they always scan for me.
Hope this helps - and isn't too confusing :rotfl:
Are you printing direct from Adobe? I always have problems printing from there - I only get a centered image and there's nothing to select for 2 images per page - what am I doing wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I can only ever print 1 centered coupon per page and it's such a waste of paper! Many thanks.Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift - the present.0 -

Moyilla you do seem to be going through the wars lately.
I don't see what harm a meeting with the ACTUAL store manager would do. If only to alert him/her to the fact that staff are rude beyond belief. If it helps it may confirm one way or the other what the policy is for sure however I am pretty gutless so talk the talk but perhaps wouldn't walk the walk IYKWIM.
Could you noy focus your shops on the 1st store if they comply witht the policy for a short while whilst you resolve the situation in the problematic store.0 -
Hello All
The Little Yeo's yoghurts are current on offer for £1 in Sains at the moment, so you can use the recent pdf for 30p taking them to 70p, inside the pack there are 2 x 30p coupons too!

Lubylwu - No I print them in preview - I stay clear of Adobe as it doesn't let me do what I want :rotfl:
Sinede - I will try 4 to a page next time I print some off - not sure my printer is good enough to print clear bar codes - but worth a try. thanks0 -

...do you think i should contact cs tomorrow to get it clarified at my local or just leave it?
You can never assume it will be OK. Always carry the policy with your coupons, it will save you from having to explain yourself too much. You can just hand it to the Duty Manager with just a few friendly but insistent words - then go quiet, put the ball in their court to read it and weep!
I even had to show the policy in 2 stores this week where they follow the coupon policy but I got an idiot at the till who tried to tell me 'that it had changed'.
You don't need the policy 'clarified' - they do! Don't ask them to 'clarify', don't use that word - it just gives them a chance to make up something for their own store.
By all means take your proof of the policy to CS next time, up front, and ask to speak to the Customer Service Manager. State what the policy clearly is and take it from there (bear in mind you may be fobbed off with one of many Duty Managers and he may not have a clue at first what you mean).
The only question to ask might be 'why was I refused last time bearing in mind the national policy allows my coupons?' or words to that effect. Don't ask 'what's the coupon policy in this store' or 'can you clarify the policy in here' or 'how many coupons can I use?', nothing that gives them an option to say something other than the actual policy.
HTHPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
