You could try asking them to look in the team 5 folder, this is kept by all tills (according to nice sa at my store)

    Good idea.

Or I would print out the recent email someone posted a few pages back, it clearly states that Tesco accept coupons without you having to buy the product and is signed by a named person in Dundee.

In a store that hasn't a clue, an email with a name would be better than the policy wording from page one IMHO. If they still don't believe it, ask for the Duty Manager and then if need be politely ask him/her to phone Dundee. That's the first approach I would recommend in a store that hasn't a clue about the coupon policy - never just accept rubbish answers from cashiers and Supervisors.

Just because no-one has asked them about the coupon policy before doesn't mean there isn't one! Some staff members are such jobsworths they need a firm approach if a customer is to get anywhere at all - and often that means you just have to go over their heads to the Managers.

Be confident and friendly but insistent, bonjovibel 729.

  • Just used my first mail voucher to get £7.15 worth of household stuff for £1.05 - pretty good considering couponet hate me so I can only print out PDF moc's. Gonna go in each day this week and do the same with each voucher - recon I should get £30 worth of stuff for a fiver :rotfl:

I now always try to go to a youngish male SA as they seem to be on the ball - shocking I know ;), I steer clear of middle age woman cause they have trouted me .

LOL I always used to look for the shortest queue - but no more.

Used the mail £5 off when you spend £25 on Non Food against my grocery shop this morning, so confirmation that it DOES scan against anything ( bearing in mind the min spend)

The £1 off when you spend £5 on dairy products didn't scan, even though I'd spent the req amount. I bought milk, butter, and yoghurts, all dairy products in my eyes, redemmed it no prob at CS on the way out though.

Used a £2 till spit on printer ink, and £2 of printer ink from the electical booklets but this wouldn't scan either ( bought £19 worth of ink) Cashier called over superviser whilst he continued putting the rest of my coupons. This is where the trouting began....................

''You can only use 50% of the value''
''No you cant , the national policy states there is no limit'
''Well this store it's 50% only''

I whip out my policy, explaining that I have written confirmation form head ofice that there is no limit to the amount of coupons and she replies

''oh yes, we had a man in with something simular a few days ago, but it's still 50%, store policy''

To cut a looooooooooooong trouting story short, I FINALLY ( after about 20 min holding up the queue) get to speak to a manager, who confirms that it IS a 50% limit. I show him the policy, and he says '' oh yes, I see what you mean, it's a bit contradicing of our store policy isn't it'' He lets me put all my coupons through ( this time) and say's he's going to contact HO to clarify the national policy and let me know of the outcome Fingers crossed we'll have another store following the CORRECT policy shortly;)
