Back's still tetchy so not feeling up to doing loads of exercise. Been out in the garden for a little while in the fight of human versus white cabbage butterfly. I am winning at the mo although my back isn't thanking me for it :( Not had my lunch yet waiting for my courgette and onion quiche to cook. I am hungry and aim to enjoy every single mouthful :)
Mentally feeling OK. Had a little wobble yesterday when I saw a pic of myself taken at DD christening last week. I am sooooo not photogenic half the time (the only pics I love are my wedding ones - no idea how me made me look so good!) and it really knocks my self esteem. Stupid isn't it :o Photo's just seem to capture the slight double chin, baby belly etc etc and all it does it remind me of the bits that I hate the most about my body.
Ho hum mustn't let it get me down that slippery slope to comfort eating.

Stay strong Bitsy - I know what you mean! I've had a difficult couple of days at work and sure enough, my eating hasn't been going well either. I'm determined to pull it together though, and get back on track - I've been doing so well up to now, must, must resist the lure of sweet food....

    Morning ladies,

Congratulations on everyones weigh loss so far. I read the thread through the other night and felt inspired...what i didnt realise was that i was eating a tub of ben and jerrys at the time. How did that happen ...??

For the new yummy mummies here ...( all of u im sure ) ..can i ask how long you waited after the birth until you cut back on food, started a plan , excercised etc?

I was thinking of doing the special k "diet" (use the word diet looseley) straightaway eg day after the birth...which may sound extreme to some but I was thinking more for convenience for me really rather than being rigid with it. I know its hard to grab something healthy at first so ( I'm not breastfeeding ) I was thinking 2 bowls of sk a day , lots of fruit and a normal fresh cooked family meal which we all would eat as normal. Im won't be excercising at first just gentle walks and post natal excercises.

I followed the diet last year for 2 weeks as a kickstart so was thinking that after the birth i could do the same as i enjoyed it. OH said he'd do it too for a few days as he feels he's come out in sympathy with my pregnancy.

It's been 10 years since i had mine last baby I may have forgotten what its actually like ..You think this sounds ok?

38 weeks today so should be joining you soon! I'm really excited..but give it day one and i'm sure i'll feel different!

Hey Suzy - congrats and hope that your little girl doesn't keep you waiting an extra 2 weeks like my DS did.
With regards to starting the Special K my advice would be just to see how you feel. Tiredness, getting over the birth etc weightloss really is the last thing on your mind. I can understand you needed to grab things on the run but you will also need decent fuel to keep you going - not sure Special K comes under that bracket ;)
You know your needs best, if you feel too lethagic having Special K twice a day perhaps its time to revisit your eating habits and try something else.
Good luck with the birth. Just remember to push :D

SW - I would make sure you are taking some multi-vits after birth if you are thinking of doing a special k diet if it were me. I'm no expert, but I read that pregnancy drains you of lots of vitamins/minerals and it can take a while to get everything back to normal, so you probably want to make sure you are getting everything you need. (Specially if you are anything like me re blood loss!)

Which reminds me - must take my vitamin tablets now while I remember.

SW i waited two weeks before i did any excercise and at that i did it at a slow pace and built up im now doing anywhere between 30mins to an hour depending on if i did anything else that day ... to be honest i dont agree with the special k diet as of course your gonna loose weight just having 2 bowl of cereal but there isnt enough nurtionment from that a healthy diet of fruit veg and wholegrain is lot better for you also if you do the sk diet on bfing its to dramatic for your body and you realise toxins in to your milk x
