Hi, does anyone know if you burn more fat bike riding that you would do walking? Cheers.

that food focus website is actually brilliant, i've used my phone today cos i've been out to note down everything i've eaten and then came home and added it all on, and i thought i'd had quite a good day but i've actually gone over my target calories for the day by 400  so its good cos i can see where i have gone wrong! tomorrow will be better!!

I couldn't agree more, that website's fab. I love the way it tells you what you've lost today based on the calories you've consumed against what you need to sustain your current weight. Apparently I've lost 0.27lb today :T . I'm hoping this may become my next obsession....

I am halfway through reading Beyond Chocolate and feeling pretty good so far. I had bacon, onion and courgette pasta bake. I ate slowly and consciously and only had half of it. Shall finish the rest for tomorrows lunch :)
I have eaten when I was hungry today and haven't comfort eaten at all (which I could have when I went and checked my bank balances - but that's a whole other thread :( )

Morning all, day 2 of the new regime for me and I'm determined to stick to it.
Challenge number 1 coming up - I'm attending a conference today and they always have a 'set' meal, which is going to be tricky, and worse of all, free-flowing biscuits which I always find hard to resist.
    Oh well, must be strong.........

So far I have eaten 2 cup cakes made by my kids which I couldn't refuse. Have had a glass of yop and 2 shredded wheat. I think it's important to drink a lot of water not just because of the heat but for ones health and skin. I'm aiming for at least 6 glasses today. Good luck for the challenge everyone.

  • Searching can you add me onto the list as well please.

I only put on half a stone with DS1 and then lost 2stone afterwards but it crept back on before I became pregnant again. Again only put on about 10lb with DS2 but had far too much to start with before DS1 was born!! Since just before DS2 was born I have lost 2stone but that includes his weight as I weighed myself just before he was born but forgot to do it just afterwards. So I've probably lost just under a stone of my own bulk but I'll start it from now and ideally I'd like to lose about 4 to 5 stone. That way I can be slim enough to run round the park with my boys without having to stop every couple of minutes or watch as daddy plays with them.

I have to admint I'm another one for the comfort eating or when/if I get a few moments I tend to munch on something I shouldn't. I seem to get so hungry mid morning and mid afternoon even though I've had fruit & fribe or weetabix for breakfast and then a sandwich for lunch, it could be partly to do with me breastfeeding as I have a booby monster that would eat all day given the chance! However food shopping is being delivered this afternoon with plenty of fruit so when I get the munchies I have some fruit to snack on.

That food focus website is brillant - how bad is my BMI though, 37.7!! Fatty alert!! I like the fact it has housework and childcare in the exercise list and least I'll always be able to add something each day.

How is everyone doing the 2lts of water per day? I was thinking about putting it in an empty fizzy drink bottle and then drinking from that so I know how I'm doing.

Sorry rambled on a bit there - time to get some exercise/housework done
