You could phone trading standards Consumer Direct adviceline on 08454 04 05 06 and see what they advise.
Personally I think you should try and get the agreement cancelled and send the car back. Carcraft prices are well over what you'd pay at Cargiant for the same make/model.Snootchie Bootchies!0 -
I've spoken to trading standard and they have given me items to put into a letter in regards to misleading selling etc.
But a further update is this: We took the car out yesterday to go buy a highchair and took it down the motorway, when we reached 65mph the car started knocking on the back wheel of the drivers side, called carcraft today to get it booked in and the woman at the other side told me the mileage wasn't correct infact the mileage I was quoteing was at least 3k OVER what is should be! So she has informed her manager about this and also the our branch manager!
I've got to take it in tuesday, do I hand over the legal letter to the manager then after it's been fixed?0 -
So were you told it was X miles and it's X plus 3k?0
-
3k over is negligible, it wouldn't have affected the price at all.
By all means use it though to add weight to your cause.
Why oh why don't people research companies BEFORE throwing money at them, sorry OP, not having a dig but can you find a single positive comment regarding Carcraft anywhere??0 -
Yes over 3k over the original agreed mileage!
As for carcraft, I just supposed that with them being such a large company (like for examplebritish gas) that we would be covered and it would be ok?
I know it was a stupid move now but unfortunatly that doesn't help my case0 -
And you dont have a case.
You can complain, and seek all the advice you want but you signed the agreement and purchased that car on those terms.0 -

There's always one person that has to be unhelpful isnt there!
The fact of the matter is even out of the agreement the car is not in the condition they sold it as AND even has extra mileage on it!0 -

Just because you don't like the answer, doesn't mean it's unhelpful, especially when it happens to be correct.
So what you are now saying is you bought a car on finance without reading the credit agreement AND failed to inspect the goods before you accepted them.
Good luck!"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
I guess it depends if you thought if had 2k miles on it, and it has 5k miles, or if it should have had 70k miles on it, and it has 73k miles.
Unfortunately, OP, you should have been more careful. But there's nothing to be lost by following TS advice.
But 22% APR! Eek.0 -
given you are looking at probably returning the car then i wouldn be driving it at all0
