Carcraft problem

Hello wondering if anyone can help me out?
My husband has just bought a gold from carcraft on the quote from the sales man he stated to us that the finance was at a 10.7% APR with black horse HOWEVER when he brought the car home I've had a look through the paperwork and it states the finance is 21.8% and £177.75 per month. We where originally quoted £168/169 at the most.

I've contacted carcraft they said they would contact us back, we heard nothing yesterday and today I have called back yet again and still heard nothing.

NOT ONLY THIS, they called us the day before we picked it up telling us it was ready to pick up. We drove down to them approxamilty 10miles with the kids at 7pm. We got there nobody knew anything about it THEN when they did find it they turned around and said that they couldn't access the paperwork for the finance as the system was down, so we had to drive back home without the car.

My main vice is the actual finance anyone know what we can do? Also does anyone know how we can file a complaint?

Are you sure he didn't say 10.7% flat rate, or just 10.7%?

Are you paying for gap/ppi etc?

If you've signed it, there's not a lot you can do.

So didnt you actually read the agreement before signing it?

Never believe what a salesman is telling you.

BTW - Carcraft are a bunch of cowboys anyway. I live near the one in Newport, South Wales. Would never buy a car from those idiots....

  • Update- I've just spoken to my husband they have turned around to him and said that the finance is a flat rate of 10.7% but when they pass it onto the finace compant they basically double it? They never mentioned that the 10.7 was a flat rate.
Ive spoke to carcraft who didnt want to speak to me as it's my husbands car and they have put the complaint through to there legal department?

Would we legally be able to do this? It says on the contract that it's not canceble or whatever :)

Lot's of salespeople use the flat rate trick. APR is about double.

Without wanting to rub salt into the wounds, you've probably paid over the odds for the car as well.

Exactly how much did you pay for car, and what make/model/year and mileage?

Not telling because I don't want to be anymore depressed than I already am!
  • Your husband has signed the agreement has therefore agreed to be bound by the terms of that agreement. As harsh as it maybe sounds he should of spotted the APR increase or the Monthly payment increase when signing!

Not condoning salesman misleading ppl by presenting flat rates as APR's (although there is a valid reason for quoting flat rates). Good luck trying to get out of it tho!!!
