Petrol is annoying isn't it. I don't drive to work as get the tube but have to fill up as I often go for weekend back to my parents in Southampton which uses a lot of petrol.

    Hi Hayley

Awww that sounds like good fun taking your niece to Harrods to see santa. I have never even been to Harrods myself!!! I imagine the queues are pretty big to see santa in there!

I was in Boots yesterday and saw them putting the christmas items on the shelves!!! The time is going far too fast for my liking!

Ekkk, petrol is a right pain in my purse too. I only buy ultimate unleaded for my car too as its what my handbook says it should be run on and well u know im fussy with my car! lol. Ultimate is a few pence more than normal.
Its good you get to claim petrol money back from work, and a bonus you get more money than you put in!! ;)

  • Guess what??? TODAY WAS A NO SPEND DAY :j:j:j i wouldn't normally celebrate quite like this but when i always spend money everyday its quite an achievement for me :T

Lets see if i can make it two in a row?! :D

Petrol costs far too much - I only drive to the park n ride everyday which is a about 2 miles but my petrol goes soo fast. I only put normal unleaded in mine as my cars a poop heap compared to yours Maria lol, but when i get my mini i will be exactly like you, doing everything i can to make it stay healthy for longer!

I can't believe Boots is starting to put its Christmas bits out already, a little bit premature wouldn't you say? End of September is a little bit better. Saying that, i'm on countdown at the mo, 69 days till we fly out to Mexico :j

My niece is being a very naughty girl at the mo, terrible twos is so true. If she carries on being a naughty moo then no posh santa for her, she can have the local one in town, which is no where near as good as posh santa at Harrods.

OH is out tonight and won't be back till tomorrow - so i am going to crack on with the pile of ironing whilst watching The Bill in the minute, and then i have some cleaning to do. I must be mad doing it so late on a Thursday eve but the only time i can get it done properly is when he's not here, MEN! I'm a very house proud person, nothing can be out of place, or messy, otherwise i just can't settle and do anything.

    Right, must get on...

Well done hayley on your no spend day! whoop whoop!!!

I think i will be the same as you being house proud when we get our own place. As im like that at work and in my room!

I put Tesco super unleaded in my car the other week as i had a money off coupon but never again as my exhuast gas light came on on the dash after a few days meaning my lambda sensor was faulty. I am sure it came on as i put Tesco fuel in it, they had problems about a year ago with there dodgy fuel breaking the sensors. Anyway, the light has gone off now again after a blast on the dual carriageway but now im back to expensive BP again just incase!! At least i can get nectar points from there.

    Aww terrible two's not good!

I just did the ironing too hehe, feel so much better for it to be out of the way though. Haven't had the energy to do much the last few days.

Ahh bless your niece, my OHs oldest niece is 2 , she called me a loser last time I saw her haha.
  • They are little monsters at two aren't they? Right little madam my little niece is. But she's the best little madam - whatever she does i cannot stay mad at her, just seeing her brightens my day.

I totally forgot to mention i signed up for a mystery shop the other day, its at a clothing shop, i will get £8 for the mystery shop, however i do need to buy something and not get my money back, but i can take it back if i want, which i will do as I'm trying not to buy anymore clothes. Still £8 for doing something that i love hehe!

Just cleaned the whole apartment, ironing done whilst watching The Bill and Pretty Women, and just changed the beds. God I'm good, OH will be impressed when he gets back tomorrow.

Right, just in bed now, must turn off laptop and get some beauty sleep!

  • The weekend has not been a NSD. Yesterday my OH and I are our closest friends went to Thorpe Park for the day, we had BOGOF tickets so wasn't too expensive. I spent £14.50 yesterday, which wasn't too bad.

This morning OH and I went food shopping to Sainsburys, came to £98 but that usually lasts us about a month. Then after that I popped into town as needed some bits, ended up spending £72, but got some really nice bits.

Tomorrow OH's mum and I are off to London for a pamper day, hair done, photoshoot, should be fun. Won't cost anything as my OH's mum is treating me as an early Christmas pressie. The only thing i will need to pay for is the meal after as we're meeting OH after and all going for a meal.

After tomorrow until the end of October I'm not going to buy anymore clothes!

Just off to now make a roast for OH and I, then relax for the rest of the day watching the footie and X Factor later!

Hope you have a nice day tomorrow, sounds like it will be a lovely day.

Good luck with the no buying clothes till end of Oct, maybe you should set it as a mini challenge for yourself.
  • What an amazing day yesterday, I didn't quite have a NSD, i actually spent £110  but it was all well worth it.

The place we went to was just off Regent Street, and we got our hair done, because i wanted mine coloured (it badly needed doing) it cost me £47.50, which is half the price as what i had done was meant to cost £100. I was going to get my hair done in October anyway. Then my hair was curled, and we had our make-up done, god i could get used to a makeup artist doing my make-up everyday. She put very little makeup on as said i had a lovely skin so that mad me happy, then we had a professional photoshoot. I am not one for posing and having my pictures taken, nor is my OH's mum, but we both got right into it and had a right giggle.

As part of the package we got a free photo each, but any others you wanted would cost £50 just for the print, and not even a print you could take to a shop and get copies because you don't have the copy rights. I wanted 2 pics of me as i had 2 different outfits, so i paid £50 for another print  but she did put all 3 prints on a disc and so we could make as many copies as you wanted. I thought that was a great deal as having 1 photo on a disc is meant to cost £100, so she did us a fantastic offer. Because we had them on disc as opposed to just taking our 2 A4 free prints, we went straight to Boots last night and got 2 copies so we could show my OH the piccys when we meant him for a meal in the evening.

It was a very long day, but a really fantastic experience.

Because of my expensive day yesterday, i am definitely watching what i spend in October and having LOTS of no spend days!

I could've made my day even more expensive yesterday and bought the make-up she used, i loved everything she used and really wanted to buy it. But thought i will check online first and see if there are any offers. Apparently they sell the make-up in House of Fraser and John Lewis, but i will also check ebay, you never know!
