Hey all and welcome to the new people - you all have such interesting stories!
Redmandarin - what changed that helped you put on weight? Maybe you need to revisit you old, favourite SW recipes and either rediscover how yummy they were or change them to make them more interesting? Good luck anyway!
Narva - i have about the same amount to lose and have been on and off dieting since i was a child. It's going to be a hard slog to get anywhere near my target but i keep telling myself that it's ok to take all the time in the world as long as i get there. Well done on getting back into exercise. I'm going to my third aqua aerobics class tonight - which i recommend if you know of a class and have the time. Good luck to you also - hope you can leave the bad year behind you0 -
---had to split this message into two due to upload size restrictions ---
Rachelmk - i can imagine how hard it must be with all the hotel meals. I dread them, particularly one that i go to fairly regularly with work that has a posh restaurant that serves ridicuously rich sauces with everything. Luckily i've avoided them since i started the diet but have been considering how i'm going to handle it when i next have to go. I spent a couple of months in the US when i was younger and would agree with the difficulty of being a veggie over there without all the excellent products such as quorn. I actually lost weight when i was over there as i found it hard to eat too much! Have you tried doing the american thing and asking for your meal to cooked exactly as you want it (i.e. no cream/butter etc and served with veg instead of chips)?
Well done on the losses and welcome back cheeky - was the holiday wonderful?0 -
Holiday was fabulous, DD and OH were well behaved! and the sun shone - and best of all our tickets for Canada were on the doormat when we got home.
So I need to be extremely good now for 4 weeks, weigh in tomorrow and it's a star week which isn't good for me as I know I've put a bit on over the laast week so that just doesn't help at all.
Anyway, I will be honest with you all.
Off to Spanish class now.
Good luck to you all with weigh ins todayI haven't got one!0 -
glad to have you back cheekymole where did you go again?
thanks so much for the recipe JenIttels --- It sounds a lot nicer than the one I made from memory, I didnt get the sauce at all right, I remembered reading it had quark in it so just put that in on its own, would have been nicer with yoghurt etc as it was a bit strong and gloopy! I have added it to the recipe thread (here)
kerry4716 that was my understanding too that you dont pay at WW if you are at your goal weight, maybe ring up your local group leader and find out??
Thanks for the idea for making cauliflower cheese pawpurrs i may have to try that one as it sounds yummy! its amazing how much healthier you can make things if you think about it :T

Hmmm...i was recently at a dinner party full of twenty-somethings and several of us there were on diets. There was me (a SW-er), 2 WW subscribers (one of whom had also done SW in the past) and a brand new SW er.
The WW (ex SW) girl had a bit to drink and started being quite vocal on the benefits of WW over SW. Both WW-ers mentioned that SW is reputed for being one of those diets where it's quite easy to lose weight but that most people put it all back on once they come off the diet.
It didn't really make sense to me as they seemed to be trying to make SW sound like Atkins which has the same reputation (though i've heard that atkins has ways round this) and quite frankly i was surprised by their !!!!!iness about SW!
I've always believed that as long as you stick to the basic principle of dieting (burn more calories than you eat) then it's fundamentally got to work so as long as we're sensible about what we eat when we reach our targets things should be fine.
Is the way we're eating on the SW diet somehow affecting our metabolism so that we have to be extra careful when we reach targets? I ask this now as we have as we seem to have a few, previously very successful ex SW members on the boards.0 -
Thanks to all of you that have welcomed me.
Day 1 in the US on the new diet regime - here goes!

Hi everyone!
I have just come across this site and think it's fab!
I have been a member of SW, SS, WW, ..... (the list goes on) for many years but having not been very successful on any plan really, think it's time to revisit SW - for about the 5th time at least. I have a 3 week mental block, ie., once the novalty wears off I get bored, then move to a different regime and in the process spend lots of money on registration fees, club fees, etc and get incredibly demotivated, and usually go back and forward between plans. I now have a new incentive in that I'm getting married next year, and would like to lose some weight before the big day.
I noticed that last week's password to the SW website was posted - does anyone know this week's password as it would be great to try this again myself and save some money/lose lbs at the same time. Any tips or words of wisdom very welcome!
Thanks and good luck to everyone with their weight loss.0 -
eaten like a pig this week and dreading my weigh in will post later as per gains (or fingers crossed) losses!!Other women want a boob job. Honey the only silicone i'm interested in is on a 12 cup muffin tray, preferably shaped like little hearts0
