Welcome Prudent, and good luck with the weight loss. There are a good crowd of us on here now, so you will also find someone for support and motivation! Are you following any particular weight loss plan?

    - thanks for speaking to Squeaky about the recipe collection and Thanks also to Squeaks himself for sorting it out. Haven't been to nosey yet but will nip over in a min....

Lilaclille - Don't be disheartned. I know its easy to say but this is the time most people are likely to give up. DON'T - stick with it and as long as you are going by the book, following the plan, the weight WILL come off. You've lost inches and that is great. The weight will follow. My SW consultant told us that she stayed at the same weight for 6 or 7 weeks and was so close to packing it in, she didn't, and went on to lose 6 stone in total. Maybe its that time of month? Are you drinking plenty of water, that'll help prevent water retention? I hope you stick at it, you are doing so well. We are all proud of you and want you to succeed.

PS Muller lights are fab -I've run out, DS decided he liked them too and polished my weekly supply off in a matter of days - off shopping later to restock.

Read it properly just now, but still a little disheartened. I haven't eaten anything I shouldn't have done as yet today. So hopefully I won't now.
Been stuck on PC for most of the afternoon checking out flights, so have been distracted.
Thanks honey28 and cheekymole, you've both cheered me up :)
Better than a class this............24 hr service and personal advise.

    hi everyone

Can I join your thread? I've been looking for inspiration for losing weight and since reading your thread have decided to try a Slimming World group on Wednesday. Can someone tell me what the costs are to join.

    Thanks

Hi Shopsmile and welcome to this thread.

It costs £4.25 per week and I think it's £10 to join although there are special offers where you can get the joining fee half price. I will check tomorrow at my class what the current offer is and I'll get back to you on that one.
If you are a student you get every 5th week free.

I hope that helps but as I say, I will get back to you when I find the offer
    I haven't got one!

Lilac maybe you are actually not eating enough, and your body may have switched in to starvation mode?

Perhaps you may be better off switching to another plan, wherby you eat a controlled amount till you know jusst how much you should be eating? Just a thought.

The best exercise for weight loss is a combination of cardio and weights,, the weights are actually really important as without muscle burns fat at a much higher rate, so its good to tone as well as doing high fat burning exercise.

The best things are spinning, and high cardio classes, body pump is also good, but whats most important is to find something you enjoy, and anything is better than nothing.

I sucumbed today to a small portion of chips from the chippy, not like me at all, ho hum.
    Pawpurrs x ;)

Not yet. I thought I might just try myself first. I am a single parent with a fairly demanding job and feel I would rather spend the time excercising / cooking healthy food that going to a class. During the week I often find it a struggle to find the time to prepare healthy food. However, I do know I will do better with some support and a chance to chat to other slimmers so thought I would post here.

I am not too confident about getting the right balance of food though, so will need to see how I get on by myself.

I woulda made lunch but it'd look weird if i pulled out a packed lunch! I've tried to eat as much fruit and stuff this morning so that i'll be in good stead. I guess i'm just lucky that i don't have to go to many of these.
I don't know that it would look THAT weird: so many people these days have food intolerances and / or special diets that a simple "What's on offer at these lunches often plays havoc with my digestion so I find it simpler to bring my own" should cover most eventualities, shouldn't it? Presuming you don't want to bore everyone with your weight loss saga, that is? :rotfl:

Of course the free lunch is more moneysaving ...

Rats, Rats, Rats, and more Rats!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been away for a couple of weeks and wasn't too bad with the diet but I've got my period and I've gone beserk looking in every single hidey hole for chocolate. I'm fixated with it and I'm disgusted with myself - I've even broken into one of the children's Easter eggs :(
(Looks like a trip to the shops tomorrow for a replacement!!)

If the neighbours could have seen me, they'd wonder what they were living next to. I really was a demented soul searching high and low and for once none of the children's bedrooms yielded anything ....... I knew I shouldn't have made them tidy up ;)

Actually, I'm laughing my head off as I'm re-reading this - could it be hysteria or am I going loopy? Perhaps it's a blood sugar high!!!!
Oh dear, I think I need to lie down - perhaps I'll have a coffee first and I'm sure they were a few more shards of chocolate lying in the bottom of the box ;)
