Yes. Tried it recently and was lovely (very yum
) but the OH didn't like it and we try to find recipes that we can cook and eat together. The syn content on the pizza base isn't too high compared to shop bought. I just need to make sure i know exactly how many syns are going into it next time i make it (and use less dough!)

Hi all,
Back again, thank you to everyone who replied to my post on Friday - it was a pretty hard day but I felt much better after having a moan to you lot and a couple of others I know on the internet. Have not told my OH about the smear thing. I can do without him moaning about the NHS for the next 2 months. He caught me mentioning something to another lady I have been chatting to on the internet and asked what it was. I said it was nothing. Another bug bear, he has been off work for 10 months with an Industrial Indury and he just is never out from under my feet and never is much use when he is here  but today he started his new job, there are toys all over the floor and the kids have mushed their lunch into the carpet but hey, I am here on my won and no one can moan about it. Today I am feeling pretty :T as I have the house (and kids) back to myself. Bet that made me sound a meanie but after 10 months I am so releived to have him out from under me feet!!
The smear thing i feel much better about, I'll deal with whatever as and when, I can't do anything about it now. I won't go back to the doc but am still annoyed with the nurse saying things the way she did. This is the surgery who missed me having a 10cm cyst on my ovaryfor 4 months and also have such a way that my sister found out I was pregnant the same day I did - and then told my mum - when the only person I had been to and mentioned it to was the doctor!! Ho hum!!
Anyway, I got back on the sclaes today and still lost nothing. What gets me is that how I can eat junk day in and out and not put on any weight but then when I cut everything from my diet and eat only good stuff I don't lose it either? I have read about these blood tests that tell you what food intolerances you have but I don't want to spend £350 on a stupid blood test to be honest. Makes you wonder though right.
OK, here is what I eat and yes, I weigh and measure everything and keep a food diary with it all on. Drinks I have water, sugar free squash, the odd diet drink (like Tango Clear) and 2 cups of coffee a day. I ronically, the honey & milk that I mentioned I have not had for a week and have not lost any weight. Figure that for yourself!! It could well be that you know. I did not mention before but because I am online there is a syns calculator and everything we eat is checked with the calculator first to ensure it is not too high. To be honest, I am not eating anything with more than 5 sins as it is a 'waste'. Bread we are using Nimble. All meat is trimmed of any fat. we keep food diaries that are downloaded from the Body Optimise website so it showes if you have any allowances left in the day or if you cook and there is nowhere to put then in the allowances they become a syn. Kind of fool proof really when you have the diaries as you can't cheat. I have been really good in not snacking.
Breakfast - Weetabix/Porridge with milk allowance.
Mid Morning - I have been snacking on cherries and strawberries, Sveltese yogurt with 0% fat.
Lunch - Green: Salad with ham (HEB) lemon juice and low fat salad cream (1 syn). Spahetti on toast, egg on toast. Pasta with tuna (HEB)
Red: Salad with Meat or ham or bacon sandwich (1 syn flora light) 2 slices of bread HEB.
Evening meal: Green: pasta with carbonara sauce (homemade), veggies, sin free chips, meat (depending on what I have had in the day - will only have meat once on a green day). Jacket potato with salad. Pasta bolognese made with pasata, tomatoes, mince beef (have tried quorn mince, not too keen), mushrooms, garlic and herbs. Stirfry with noodles, mushrooms, onions, garlic, chinese vegetables and beanspouts its yummy and you can add meat if you want.
Red: Meat, potatoes & veg. Lots of recipes I usually spend the afternoon scouting around the websites to find recipes for dinner with the new stuff I have been buying to eat. No harm in trying them.
Pyuddings, have made the cous cous pudding (1 1/2 syns I think, we shared it between 4), or a small meringue nest crushed (3 syns), loads of fruit piled on and a squit of Anchor Low fat cream to mix in with it (1syn). Last week had low fat yogurt, quark and crushed strawberries which we froze and that was really nice. I am experimenting with the deserts but I am not eating the high syn foods really. I think I have had one dime bar and one curly wurly in 3 weeks which is good for me as I would eat chocolate or biscuits at least twice a day.
Treats I am not really eating any. I had a curly wurly last week (6 syns) I like to eat things that I am getting the most syn value out of. I even put a biscuit in my mouth the other day and realised I did not need to eat it but wanted to eat it and spat it out and threw the rest away. Crisps were part of my staple diet but I am not neating any of those. I am not finding it as hard as I thought in this way but I feel like I am not getting any gain out of it when I am eating as I should, it is so frustrating.
Sleep, no I am not getting enough but I know that and sadly what with working and having the kids to look after during the day this is not my priority. I need to do my little bit of work, it keeps me sane and I enjoy having a value in my life. I don't get me time, asking my husband is laughable - this would be the guy who 'popped' to the DIY Store and then was 2 1/2 hours so I missed my hair appointment, the only time I had on my own in 2 months. I booked it for the next day and he had a go at me because he was going fishing and what time was I expecting him back so really it is not worth the bother. I want a quite life and can't be bothered with the moaning - it is bad enough living with him, he is like Victor Meldrew and always moaning. I don't even bother listing to it most of the time to be honest - apprently he tells me stuff and I don't hear him. Funny that, LOL. But that's the way it is. Don't get me wrong, he does not go out all the time but he is very thoughtless when he does and most of the time I feel like an unpaid baby sitter. The last time I went out and had my free time was last June before my friend had her baby. Then after that was to Tescos to do the shopping. So, time and sleep is something I'll forfeit until the kids go to school and then I'll have time to have my won time. It is not long to wait really. Then I'll have time to join the gym. If I was to do a class now with the travelling and the like it would mean being out for 2 hours in the evening and my business runs 7 days a week - have a day off it means working twice as long the next day so I really don't have the time off as there is no one else to do the work except me. It is hard. I sell stuff on the internet so it not like I am 9-5, the store is open 24 hours and people will buy any time of day or night, call the house in the venings and weekends but that is what I choose to do so I can be at home and be with my kids while they are little. Hope that makes sense. Some things you have to sacrifice for others for short periods in your life I guess.
Well, listen to me, this has kind of turned into a novel so I apologise if you nodded off midway, LOL. Any comments are more than grateful but I am feeling much better today so thank you for your hugs at the tail end of last week.
BH xx

Hi Everyone,
Well its time I got my weight problem under control but i dont know which plan to follow as I dont seem to be able to stick to anything right now.
I was following the cambridge diet but as I enjoy the odd drink and meal out i found that i would starve myself to make up for the fact i had eaten proper food. I eat hardly any veg or fruit which i know isnt good in itself but i need a plan that wont make me eat so many portions of verg per day otherwise i will end up skipping things again. So maybe SW is for me? I have followed this plan before but its going back over 4 years and things have changed since then.
Im also on a budget so which plan would you all recommend?
Any help would be fantastic!JenIttels wrote:The syn content on the pizza base isn't too high compared to shop bought. I just need to make sure i know exactly how many syns are going into it next time i make it (and use less dough!)

I know a couple who drink lucozade with every meal... including breakfast!
Not just a sugary drink... but full of glucose - far worse than sugar!
I won't tell you how much they both weighMy TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
Irn Bru contains 43.0kcal per 100ml so 2 litres 860calories a doughnut contains 140calories so about six doughnuts worth.
Don't you think eating six doughnuts a day might increase you weight.
The craving for high calorie things like Irn Bru, sweets, cakes etc is part of metabolic syndrome. If you could do your exercise outdoors so you get regular exposure to sunshine the links between obesity and vitamin d are set out here once you get your vitamin d levels higher you'll find your cravings for carbs disappears. My weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program

Hi
Just checking to see that you had a good first day back at work. Don't suppose you'll get much time on here until you're settled in?
Lois - what do those scales know anyway? (Sorry I know I should have replied earlier - been to hot to sit by pc!) I'm sure that you'll have a loss this week.

The Cambridge Diet is far too low calorie to follow for any length of time. At the end of the day, you need to follow a healthy eating plan for the rest of your life in order to lose weight and, most importantly, keep it off. If you go 'on' a diet, it stands to reason that sooner or later, you plan to come 'off' it. This doesn't work and is why we put all the weight back on again.
SW promote a low fat. healthy eating way of life, so that, once you've learned what you should be eating, and the quantities you can have, you're set for life.
Get some SW books (or even the magazines) and stick to the plan 100% for just one week and see what happens!! Good luck:beer:I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
