last week myself and my OH went to M&S B'ham and well we got some sandwich meat - anyway we got two ham and one chicken -3 packs for £5 our offer didn't come off - but it transpired that the chicken was £3 but because the shelf was full of the chicken, the CS honored the deal!

i thought they all had it on their price sticker??
well it does in any m&s i go into!0 -
Hi,
no, its not on the stickers.
I was in the same M&S agian this week, and a lady in front of me in the queue had exactly the same problem as I had.
I was tempted to lean and mention it to her, but British Reserve and all that
She also asked to see the Manager, and was also fobbed off.
I assume this has got to such endemic proportions that the Store Managers won't talk to people about it.
Cheers,

That's a deliberate con. No-one could convince me that that's not intentional.0

the signs and shelf labels, all refer to which offer each item is under - its just the actual packs of food that dont
The offers are listed as 'deli' 'ready meals' etc you just have to check what you are buying, to make sure they are in the same deal

Had this exact same problem in Asda a few weeks ago. EXACTLY the same sticker reading any 2 for £3. If it had said 2 for £3 I wouldn't have argued it but it did say ANY 2 for £3. They "agreed to honour it this time" but I think they were on a sticky wicket to be honest.Good Enough Club member number 27(2) AND I got me a stalkee!

I've just checked this today and the packs of food DO say what the limitations are e.g "3 for £5 on selected ready meals". Only a couple of lines in the produce section were still using the old stickers where it wasn't clear what the restrictions were, but as the specifics of the offer only covered certain produce lines it wouldn't cause confusion anyway.
Please don't think every company deliberately sets out to mislead customers. M&S used generic offer stickers, it caused confusion, they have acted on feedback and now use specific department stickers. FWIW in the store I'm at myself and a lot of other assistants go out of our way to point out vouchers and other offers to save customers money...we're like a ninja MSE team trying our best to save customers money0 -
Byebye M&S. No thank you.0

Hi,
thats OK, just as long as M&S are providing Telepathy Helmets at the door so we can work out which are "Ready meals" and which are "deli items".
Apparently a portion of roast potatoes is a "ready meal", but a quiche is a "deli item". Is there any sense to this at all? Or is it just random?
Cheers,
Karen0
