Here is another dip for another occasion - one of the easiest ever.... my mother used to do this. Take a pack of Boursin cheese (herbs & garlic), and simply thin it with cream to dip consistency. Delicious and cannot fail."Remember that many of the things you have now you could once only dream of" - Epicurus0

We have some people coming round tonight and I wondered if anyone had any quick and simple dips that they could knock up from the storecupboard.
I tend to have a well stocked one and have these things hanging around as a matter of course.
Tinned Tomatoes
Various beans including chick peas but no Tahini - so Hummus which I was thinking of is less of an option, also I am without a food processor.
Olives
Anchovies
Red Peppers in a jar
Mayo
Onions
Chutneys
Onions
Cheddar
Garlic
lots of spices
Any thoughts gratefully accepted!
I could make it better myself at home. All I need is a small aubergine...
I moved to Liverpool for a better life.
And goodness, it's turned out to be better and busier!0 -
How about a tomato salsa and a cheese & onion dip?0

Hi dronid,
There's an earlier thread with some recipes that may help:
Home made Dips
I'll add your thread to that one later to keep all the suggestions together.

Also, you could make a red pepper pesto and grill some french bread cut into thin slices - schmear the pesto on top and garnish with a half olive?0

Thanks Pink, I was looking around for a thread like that!:T

I'm having some people around tonight for the Eurovision, and I'm wanting to do some home made dips to go with my crisps.
I already have salsa, and I'm going to make garlic mayonnaise. In terms of ingredients that might be helpful, I have mayonnaise, ketchup, bbq sauce, Dijon mustard, balsamic vinegar, garlic & herb cream cheese, normal cream cheese, mixed herbs, garlic puree, tomato puree, salt, pepper, chilli flakes, and possibly some other bits and pieces.
Thanks! In a better financial position than ever before (thank you MSE!). Moved back to Scotland and now trying to keep debt-free!0
