Low fat Greek style yoghurt is good for dips. I've mixed with cream cheese or cheese and chives. Aldi do a low fat cream cheese, which is good value. You could easily add garlic or chopped fresh herbs/chilli powder etc.

I like sweet chilli mixed into yoghurt. 1 tbsp of each combined would be 1 ww propoint for it all.

I also really like yoghurt, 1 tsp of mango chutney (I like the chunky one) and a little bit of mild curry powder.

I'd go for 0% fat greek youghurt, dried mint, grate a clove of garlic, grate some cucumber and squeeze the water out of it, add to mix. Tzatziki... goes lovely with wedges

    My favourites are:

Raita - Coarsley grated cucumber, liquid squeezed out, mixed with greek yoghurt, and if you like some chopped coriander

Mixed Raita - Same as above with some finely chopped white onion, finely chopped deseeded tomato and some whole toasted cumin seeds

Tzatsiki - Same as the normal raita but with a clove of crushed garlic and mint instead of coriander

I'm looking for ideas for a dip for HM potato wedges that is low fat. Usually I'd use mayo or sour cream but Dh is on a diet! I looked at the 1/2 fat creme fraiche but that is still quite fattening so i'm hoping you could give me some ideas using fat free yoghurt - any idea what I could add to it that would make a yummy dip?

I use Total fat free greek yoghurt with light mayo (about half and half). I mix in finely chopped spinach, garlic and onion, and whatever fresh herbs I fancy - it always tastes gorgeous! I use the 10% fat Total greek yoghurt for a creamier dip if feeling naughty.

The only drawback is that Total is pretty expensive, but as a once in a while thing I work it into my budget. I have tried other yoghurts, but Total is the only strained one I've found, which gives a really good body to the dip - those who are more kitchen-competent than me could probably strain their own or make their own from scratch.
I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

  • I was given this dip idea and it's really nice

Soft cheese like Phillidelphia (I use Lidl)
    Jar of Baxters Tomato chutney
    Thinned with lemon juice.
