Saks offer-WHY HAVE MSE REMOVED THE OFFER DETAILS FROMTHE EMAIL??

Well done to those who got in there first to get the free haircut.
When I feel like a new haircut I search for the training salons - like with Toni & Guy or Vidal Sassoon. Theres always plenty of experienced hairdressers to guide the trainee hairdressers and you can often get the style you want. Usually the trainees have had a few years experience anyway but have to do example hair cuts for their portfolio to go to other salons.
So don't be too disappointed if like me you've missed out on an appointment at Sak's.0 -
Hi there,
We removed the full details of the SAKS offer from the Beauty Deals page as it was no longer available to everybody, only those who had purchased the newspaper.
We have been in touch with the SAKS press office and its confirmed that due to the massive popularity of the offer the appointments went very quickly. There are a very small amount of appointments left, but you will have to phone your local salon to check. The press office was unable to give us a list of those branches or any sort of indication of the amount of appointments left.
Well done to all those who managed to get an appointment!

Can I sue the NoTW for 'loss of bargain' and get my hair cut elsewhere?
The Magazine says 'free haircut for every reader' when it clearly did not have appointments for every reader available. If it was limited they should have limited the number of magazines available on that day.0 -

Everyone knows they have to ring the local salon to check-but because you removed the list of salons and their phone numbers, people couldn't look it up.0 -
Errr....a quick google would give everyone their salon's details....Even if theirs wasn't participating, it would only take a quick phone call to check.0

Ours had just 4 appointments a day for 2 weeks - so that was 40 appointments each week.
There are not a huge amount of salons, say there were 100 salons and each had 100 appointments then that would be just 10000 free haircuts, and NoTW has almost 3 million readers, if 5% of those readers took the offer then they would still need 15,000 appointments so they clearly sold their papers knowing that every reader could not have a free haircut.
I am a bit naffed off as I bought the paper for nothing - I bought 2 papers for nothing - and I called the day they opened after Sunday and the appointments had already gone. They have however mislead people into buying the newspaper as there was not a free haircut for every reader.0 -
I am a bit naffed off but not that naffed off. I booked my usual hairdresser today for the end of the month. BUT, it's the principle I guess. It's like saying there was a voucher in the magazine but there were some missing vouchers in some magazines but these people were still able to get haircuts, surely it's the same principle, these people were not promised the voucher would be in the paper, it was subject to availability. Is that not the same thing?
If I was THAT bothered I probably would complain, would be interested to see if anyone does please, but it was merely on principle I was annoyed. IYSWIM. I should be able to send my vouchers to the NoTW to claim my £2 refund. LOL, I will email them and see what they say.
ETA: LOL, I just sent an email asking for £1 refund on the voucher and asked why they used the words free haircut for every reader when it was obvious that only 3% of readers would be able to get one. I will let you know when I get a reply (for you really, Holly I think we are the only people that bothered, ha ha, I think it is the thought of those massaging chairs) http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/news/5510/xxx.html
I am booked in for a pedicure in Saks for a few weeks time for my birthday treat and before the kids finish for the school holidays, we are using the £10 when you tell a friend voucher, my friend and I are having our feet done at the same time. Nice.0 -
I am not bothered for me-I have got an appointment soon, but I have never seen mse remove the details from an email, then tell us what we needed to do to book the appointment (they allready told us that in the email) having removed the link.I don't think they should have said "for every reader" because that is clearly not true.0

A quick google would find us lots of things-I mean-why bother to have a flightchecker-you could google skyscanner. Why bother to have a grabbit board-you could google hukd...isnt that the whole point of the info here-its here-not somewhere else!!0 -

I meant that claiming people have lost out because the details were removed is NOT a valid point.
They have missed out because the salons quickly ran out of appointments due to the popularity of the offer; not because MSE removed some phone numbers.
I understand the frustration at having bought the paper and not got an appointment, but honestly....let it go already! It's not the end of the world, it happens. Sometimes you get, sometimes you don't.
Edit: I'll just add that I doubt if they would refund the £1. Playing the devil's advocate here, but....It did say "for every READER". You didn't buy the voucher, you bought the PAPER. If you want your money back for not being able to use the voucher, you clearly aren't a "reader", therefore not entitled to anything....IMO anyway!0
