    Morning everyone.
Well very cloudy here. What a difference to yesterday. Come back sunshine I neeeeeeeeeed you ;)
Not much going on here today. DS back at pre school so am heading off to Mr S with DD in tow this morning. Need some bits and pieces (not much meat in freezer except for chicken) and their baby stuff has a third off so will be clearing the shelves of their eco range of nappies :D
Not sure what's for tea. Probably a makeshift as I have badminton tonight.
Was nibbling on my homegrown baby carrots whilst watering the garden last night. Very tasty and DS couldn't get enough of them! They've done much better in a big plastic pot this year rather than the terracotta one last year.
My mum and dad are back off hols and it's been nearly 2 weeks since they saw the kids so are having withdrawal symptoms. Will probably head round there this afternoon so they can see them.
Made a lovely tea last night (meat free). Onion and courgette and grated carrot and LOADS of garlic over pasta with home grown little gem lettuce. It was very tasty and a good way to our 5 a day :D
Do tinned toms count towards that???

Have a good day all OS or not.

Sounds wonderful - can you post some simple instructions?

    YES YES YES!!!!!!

Tinned toms DO count towards your 5 a day!:j

    Morning all!

Been MIA for ages whilst sorting out house, needs lots of redecoration and so have been busy with that, half way through doing en suite at mo, new oh fell through the floor so had to be done a little sooner than I'd planned!

OS stuff is continuing as usual, stardrops and lots of cooking! OS today has so far involved hanging washing out on new line (woohoo! how excited by it am I!), putting more washing on, changing beds, S&S kitchen and hoovering up, esp the stuff from the plumbers!

Breakfast today was pancakes for the kids, not had mine yet!
Lunch for the kids was HM pasties or sausage rolls, choc biscuit (real shop one in a wrapper, much excitement from dd3!), apple, cheese cubes and grapes. Lunch for me will be a sarnie, got a craving for egg mayo and salad.
Dinner will be something lovely I'm sure, but not certain what yet as have mislaid the menu plan yet again! Prob involve chicken and the barbie though!

I hope that everyone has a good day and lots of hugs to those who need them xx

Morning all, a whole day of marking again for me again as my deadline is creeping up.

I started making a top last night only cut the pattern back to front because I was so knackered - another one to add to the cushion cover pile! Doh - at least it was only the lining though! I am determined to replicate my new dress in multiple colours and want to use the pattern for the top to make the top separately, but am finding sourcing fabric an issue and I cut first think later. It's quite funny given I spend all day playing with structures and computer modells why I can't see which way up something goes! :o

I made this last week to take to work for my birthday

    CIMG1748.jpg

I ran out of eggs so had to throw in half a jar of nutella and some soya yogurt instead. Ironic really, given I hate nutella and strawberries, but everyone else said it was fine!

Tea will be... er... OH's job :D

    Diva - he's so cute :)
PP - sorry your not feeling too well.
Halight - best of luck with your scan
The Lakeland sale has started BTW online!

Hi everyone. Sorry I'm not posting very often on here these days! Having DH here most of the time means I get interrupted a lot! However, he is working, hopefully, for the next few weeks - until we come back in August to meet our new grandchild, due on the 15th.

    PenPin - I hope you're feeling better.

I haven't really caught up with the news, I'm afraid, so I hope you are all having good weather.

DG - good luck with your trip!

MSD - hope the toothache goes! Even though it's newly filled, if it goes on hurting, you should go back to the dentist, in case you have an infection.

OS-wise, we are having pork chops tonight, with creme fraiche, leek and mushroom sauce, new boiled pots, courgettes and broccoli, followed by stewed cherries (that were free from a friend's overloaded trees!), with icecream.

The weather is gorgeous at the moment, already 30 degrees. It's lovely, but I don't want it any hotter really!

DH is busy fixing double gates (2 sets!), and I am doing some online work, so I'd better get on with it.

    Hi everyone,

I've had a very busy week at wor (including 3 evening meetings) so I've been a bit behind.

Hope tonight to give the family bathroom a good going over (really only used by DS and GF when she is over) it's looking a bit the worse for wear.

Going up to see dad in hospital again on Friday (8th week now). He's still on the mend but is thoroughly miserable because he hates hospital.

Hoping DH will finish decorating the hall, stairs and landing while I'm away (watch for flying pigs). It's taken about 6 months so far and I am tearing my hair out.

Hugs to those in need and happy birthday/anniversary/holiday to those celebrating - sorry I haven't had time to read the thread.

    Hi Everyone

Just a quickie, I've been MIA for a few days MIL came out of hospital Thursday evening and unfortunately passed away Sunday afternoon. We were all round her at the time. Funeral is Tuesday, it was DH birthday yesterday but he got through it really well.

Nothing OS done at all and boy does the house show it! got friends popping round this evening so need to get my @rse off the sofa and do a little bit of tidying up.

Have also realised that I'm not loosing weight cos I'm not eating enough....I've logged on that food focus website and found that for the past couple of weeks I'm lucky if I manage 500 cals a day  no wonder my weight ain't shifting, but I only eat when I'm hungry and I don't eat much. Hmm need to force feed myself a bit I think, nicely as possible though.

    Hi everyone,

Ruth, I'm sorry to hear about your mother in law. Yesterday must have been very hard for you and your dh. Take care.
Aussie, It's great to hear that you are coming back to the UK again.
Diva, that is definitely a stick insect. The boys used to keep (pink-winged) stick insects as pets and when they cleaned them out there were often eggs on the old leaves that seemed to hatch and survive in the garden.
Marie, belated happy birthday for yesterday! :bdaycake:

I'm sick of reading my posts apologising for not being around much at the moment so goodness knows you all must be sick of it too :o but real life is really getting in the way at the moment. I'm up to my eyes in work and home life so little chance to post.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes for dd yesterday, she had a great day and we got to meet her new boyfriend who flew over especially. He seems pleasant enough but I can't quite make up my mind if he's painfully shy or just doesn't know what to make of us all....either way he's very very quiet and having a conversation is like getting blood from a stone.

Ds1 asked me last night if he could have a day off school because it's end of term and they're doing nothing/he needs to catch up on some sleep/ and he wants to go out with his friends (who are a year older than him and just finished GCSE's so they're having a well deserved early break from school). My answer was a resounding NO CHANCE! But the little swine got up and asked his Dad this morning before I was awake if he could stay off because he was tired and doing nothing in school. A bleary eyed Mr Pink said yes because apparently he felt sorry for him

When I woke up and realised, I read the riot act to both of them! He still got the day off because he'd missed the bus and it was far too late to get him to school but the good bit is that I have my own personal slave for the day! :D He's already walked his brother to school, washed the dishes, hung out the washing, tidied his room, dusted the living room and he's cooking us lunch on the barbeque at the moment. His jobs for this afternoon include cutting the grass, and doing some revision. Going to school would have been the easy option and I think it may be a very long time before he tries this trick again. ;)

So my Old Style day is potting up some plants and sitting in the garden with a book. Hot dogs with sausages I managed to pick up reduced from £4.00 to 40p for tea, then I'm off out to work this evening.

Hope you're all having a good day.

    Hi chums:j

First of all belated birthday wishes to MeanMarie as I wasnt around yesterday....and thank you all for your good wishes re my appointment.

I saw the consultant and he says he cant find anything worrying and he thinks it is migraine......he thinks it is something called hemiplegic migraine where you lose power in one side of your body while the migraine is there.
I also had blood taken:eek: i hate it so much,am ok when taking it from my patients:rotfl:.....I also had a brain scan and will get the results in a couple of weeks. I came home and had 2 migraines which lasted all evening....will be off work next week too...thats 4 weeks off....the NHS will be loving me...they dont like people being off sick.
I feel like I am neglecting DS a little as I cant deal with his loudness and echolalia all the time....think I will make a point of a cuddle and story together when he finished school.....if he isnt too busy watching cbeebies:rolleyes:
Sunnygirl glad everything went ok for your dad....just noticed recently you are in Manchester...I did my nurse training there at NMGH (crumpsall hosp) and also worked at Hope and specialised at Monsall in infectious diseases until they knocked it down:rolleyes:
Halight good luck with the scan, hope it is good news

am trying to stay away from Lakeland sale:o
OH has a migraine today too but in typical male fashion he gets to lie in bed all day with his:mad:..evil woman arent I;)

am going to list some of DS clothes on Ebay now, see if i can make some money.
    hugs to all
    xx
