Agree BB, go for it anyway, don't bow out until you know ALL the details!

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.

Google Arts and Media College in the next town along to me Sally ;) School area begins with 'W'.

My drama degree could at last be useful as the school has pumped huge amounts into becoming a heavily humanities based centre for excellence. They are really into Media studies/film making/drama.

The mad thing is - it only closed yesterday!!

There was no pay scale on the job advert - in fact there was no proper job description other than teaching cookery up to GCSE.

I have visions of someone hollering along the school corridor 'somebody applied!!!!!!!!!!' and the Head hollering back 'quiiiiiiiiiiick - get them in for an interview before they realise the pay'!!!!

sounds like I'd be there most of the day. Part of it is teaching Yr 8 for 25 minutes on a subject i've been given details of, produce the lesson plan and some kind of assessment.

By coincidence, a school much closer to me (I've even taught there on one occasion at night) is advertising for a cookery teacher. This time it says a qualified teacher..........wonder if they'd consider me......it's only about 2 miles away.

I must be mad...........39 and wanting to go into teaching.........Buffy will be tearing her hair out screaming at the computer reading my posts :rotfl:

Funny BB because thats what I want to do too...once Bea is settled at school I think I shall go back to uni and do teacher training...either that or set up a DFW commune where I can also run my garden centre/nursery from :)
