Bit annoyed with Airasia, I bought 2 tickets Stansted to KL return early in June for travel in October for £686 all in (meals, baggage) on a promo offer they were advertising. Then, with the latest promo (no admin fees), exactly the same dates and all extras is £150 cheaper)Don't get me wrong, I think the £686 is still very good, but £150, is £150 after all, I did call the call centre, who advised there was nothing that could be done as the tickets I had bought in the earlier promo were not refundable, so feel a bit agitated by this (unless anyone else has any experience of changing Air Asia's minds, not sure if there is anything else I can do...)0

There's still a few available for £188 + extras (baggage, seats, meals etc).
Look for the £124 out and £64 return flights, E.g. Jan 28 -> Feb 10 but I've seen quite a few other dates.0 -

Them's the breaks unfortunately. Same with anything else really. Sometimes buying early leaves you out of pocket if demand isn't quite as the selling company was expecting.
Has anyone paid for their "business class" style seats and is it worth the extra? Still very cheap to upgrade and I'm tempted to treat myself.0 -
I'm going to buy the tickets to Aus with 3h 15' between the 2 flights, it should be ok.
I don't understand this:
"Boarding: You must be at the boarding gate at least ninety (90) minutes before the scheduled flight departure time."
Why?
if "check-in counters are open three (3) hours before the scheduled flight departure time. The counters close sixty (60) minutes before the scheduled flight departure time"0 -
We flew to Oz from KL. All I can say is that for our particular flight last Feb we had to sit in the main gates area until about 1 hour before the flight and then move into the designated gate area (other side of a glass partition). We were in at the front of the queue as usual but there didn't seem to be a problem with people coming through much later than we did. One piece of advice for all travelling, if there is a queue there is only one place to be AT THE FRONT. Get there as early as possible, sit down and relax.0

Thanks for your feedback. I agree completely, always stay at the front and go asap at the gate.
There is still a counter sense because the check in closes 60 minutes before the departure time (as normal) but passengers are supposed to be 90 minutes before at the gate.
I will leave from Perth early morning, crossed fingers on punctuality!
BTW, I booked after midnight in Malaysia, but I had the Promo anyway. I wonder the term date of 28th june which local time is referred to0 -

Oh wow. A fantastic itinerary and a fantastic price. I paid twice that just to fly to KUL last year. KL and Bangkok are both great fun. I haven't made it to HK yet.
Mmmm..... tempting....0
