I been to glastonbury many times, last year I took two 11 year olds with me.
Even with feeding those 2, I have never spent anywhere near £600! I dont buy food or drinks on site. I take it with me.... and yes, I have stayed from Wednesday to Monday and still managed not to buy anything there!
Glastonbury is what you make it, it can be very expensive but it can be really really cheap. Its up to you which one it is.

Just said goodbye to BIG son who's off on his way down there, armed wtih sachets of tea/coffee/hot choc/soup, cereal bars, small camp stove, 2 cans of Magners and babywipes! They're going to get some cans of beans and sausages, pot noodles etc, etc in Tesco here before getting on the train - so no way are they going to be spending £600 this weekend, maybe near £500 with train/bus fares, entry tickets and some food or drink down there, but that's for 2 of them, not each.

Its also full of the great unwashed.

You can smell the 'student' and 'hippy' stench' for miles around that weekend.

There were quite a few Glastonbury tickets on sale on eBay, I was scanning the pix to see if there were any close enough to my resemblance, as I had changed my mind and wanted to go, way too late to buy a ticket legitimately.

It is a shame that there is no way to sell on unwanted tickets, but they have to draw the line at refunds somewhere. See appear to struggle to cope with the demand anyway without the hassle of dealing with another late set of tickets, but I agree with the other posters, gig tickets are never refundable, and the T&C's say they aren't transferable either, of course that's difficult to enforce without the photo, but still the rules.
There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.

So, the bottom line is this, we have wasted £350 of our hard earned cash to an uncaring, cash grabbing corporation.

The rules are the same for everyone and they cannot bend over backwards to every individual who now finds themselves short of money. If they were cash grabbing they would charge 1k a ticket not £160.Last year glastonbury cost £22 million to stage.

Festival-goers were able to reserve their place for a £50 deposit then pay the full amount on April 1 2009, or face a £10 charge if they chose not to go through with the sale.

we had (not) taken out their insurance we would not be entitled to a refund. period.

    So, you:-
    • took a risk
    • did NOT take out insurance
    • left it too late
Sounds like your fault 100% to me....

I used to spend £200 - £250 whenever I went. Things are very expensive to buy there.
