People are so resentful and bitter they envy anyone making a decision they don't like, even when they don't understand the consequences. Unfortunately instead of blaming the real culprits for the state of society, they blame people such as the OP.

I understand the consequenses. I walked out of a job once. I didn't expect anyone else to fund me for the decision I made though and as such didn't even put in a claim for JSA.

The OP has to be responsible for his actions, NOT society. Society didn't make him make that decision.

I don't think that anyone's blaming the OP for the state of society but I do think that people believe that he has to be responsible for the decisions he makes.

Maybe they should give some % of the dole in the form of food stamps?

what's wrong with giving people money? Gives them independence and allows them to support the economy thus paying their way through things like VAT. Food stamps will just lead to further stigmatisation.

Just because someone has a different point of view from you, doesn't mean that they "don't get it"!

Can you not see the contradiction in those two statements?

What on earth are you talking about? How can anyone on handouts be 'independent'? It always makes me laugh when I see hippy-types living out in the country, wanting to be free of society......as long as society gives them a giro every two weeks

Every single person who comes on here explaining the rules of benefits, you jump down their throats, for being 'judgemental', yet you can't see that you are just as judgemental of them. You can't accept that often, an OP words their opening post in such a way that it shows either a reluctance to accept the benefit rules (because they are different) or is obviously looking for a way around the rules in some way. Would you care to explain exactly why you defend every single one of these OP's? Has your local jobcentre made you mad by expecting you to look for work for your JOB-SEEKERS Allowance at some point?

It does, if they don't get it.

    You are continually being disingenuous.
