Past 3 days has been blistering sunshine here in Manchester, I formerly predicted it, as the weather forecast said it was gonna chuck it down. Its always going to be the complete oppositte to what the weather forecast tell you.

What annoys me most, is that the national weather only bleat about sunny days if its in London, they then skip pass the rest of us with "oh it might rain over there"

    And thats complete rubbish.

Half the time people don't listen properly to weather forecasts anyway which means it's wrong because they didn't listen properly.

It has not been forecast to rain for the past 3 days in Manchester!!!!!!! There was a front that moved south on Thursday which was forcast to have some precipitation on it but mainly cloud and that was the case. And how come I know better the forecast for Manchester better than you do & I live in the south of Engalnd!

I think the op should read up more on the chaos theory and it's complexities before passing judgement on the Met Office (that's where the BBC get the info from)

The simple answer...You dont, I can look out of my window here in Manchester and literally count the clouds in the sky, personally I dont think your feild of vision can stretch this far. ;)

I don't need a field of vision, I saw the forecast like I said!

I don't think they what will happen from one day to the next. If yo remember is was the BBC that last year said "This year will be warmer than the heatwave of last year" So far, no show.

They didn't even forcast these floods we've had. their Teletex said on Wednesday, London..today will be 24c. Last night it's jumped to 30c.

Problem is these days, is you can't even plan a BBQ.

No forecasters made such a claim about the temperature. The long term forecast all along was for tempertures to be above the 71-00 average this summer which they are:

    Average This Year
    May 11.3 12.1
    June 14.1 15.34
    July 16.5 15.49
    August 16.2 17.47

= +0.6 above the long term average.

Both cases of high rainfall were forecast 5 days before they happend. You cannot forecast such events much more before hand.

So exactly how many clouds were there in Manchester, and exactly what time did it start spitting? ;) or didnt they tell you that much detail. Personally I dont rely too much on forecasts, mainly they are predicted, and cannot be as accurate as looking out of the window, hence I dont need weather forecasters making the wrong predictions when I have a perfect feild of vision.
