    He/she was right though.

How is extra money going to encourage the OP to get up in the morning?
There is no disability there that money will ease.

Money can help a lot actually, in a practical way (paying for somebody to get a taxi instead of taking the bus for example) and also by taking away some of the stress. Obviously it can't take away physical pain but then that's not the point of DLA.

And also while at CAB today, somebody was asking if they could apply for DLA and the adviser actually asked them if they had trouble getting up in the morning, had trouble leaving the house, eating etc. And he was reading this off the DLA leaflet.

They are not right because Emma1973 was quoting some of the DLA criteria which relates to mental health problems whereas WML was I guess referring to someone who was just lazy, there is a difference.

As opposed to picking up a phone to call one?
Do me a favour....this is blatant blagging and nothing more.

THIS kind of applicant is the reason GENUINE people applying for DLA are being refused.

Can you explain how you are qualified to decide who are genuine claimants and who are not? I assume that, in making this comment, you have access to the OP's medical records?

    No, I thought not.
    Gone ... or have I?

My goodness! ALl I seem to cause on here is arguments. This certainly isnt helping my anxiety levels. Thank you to al of those people who posted constructive and helpful replies. And as to the people who repeatedly make unhelpful and uncalled for remarks in these forums, be assured that we will report this. People come on here for support and guidance and although you are entitled to your say, you are not entitled to make out that genuine people are 'blagging' benefits. I think you will find that the term for this is slander and yes it counts as 'abuse' that can be reported on here. Do us all a favour and go into politics. You sound like you have about as much common sense and knowledge as our so called government.

I assure you I am not threatening anyone. I am a nice genuine person who had a genuine query and didnt expect to get this kind of response. Think I will leave this site. It just upsets me

Ahh don't leave. MSE is great, 95% of the people are lovely. No matter where you go or what you do in life you're always going to come up against people that are unpleasant or have different view points to you. The key is to just rise above it.

Sally you could get so much valuable advice and support from this website, just forget this thread and move on to the next one. I've had altercations with loads of people in the last few years but I don't know these people so I just get on with it. :)

    1. Would another £20 help your anxiety levels? It seems so.
    2. Sue for slander......c'mon. Because you think a few quid will help your state.
    3. If i did get into politics, the first thing i would do is collar those that get benefit that shouldn't.
