DLA question

I have anxiety problems and have been told by my doctor that I have Traumatic Anxiety Disorder. I have since been told by someone in an employment service that I should be entitled to the lower rate of Disability Living Allowance. I said that i dont class myself as disabled as it is more an emotional problem but they claim that I should still be able to register as disabled due to the mental health implications of this condition. Does anyone know about this?

DLA looks at whether you have care and mobility needs, not your actual condition. Do you have these needs?Gone ... or have I?0

It obviously depends on how badly you need the money but many people on the lower end of the needs spectrum can find applying for DLA a deeply depressing process and not always worth the stress for the small amount of money you actually get.0

Also, there is no such thing nowadays as a disability register.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
You can get lower rate care for people with anxiety and depression. My daughter does on the basis that she needs help and encouragement to get out of bed, wash, dress, eat something, etc0

DLA looks at what care you require? If you feel this applies then its worth looking into.0

My son also needs encouragement to get out of bed, wash, dress, eat something, etc. It's called my boot! Also, it is far cheaper for the tax payer :rolleyes:Be happy, it's the greatest wealth0 -

Yet another unhelpful post, I really do not know why you keep doing this because it is not helping the OP or anyone else. Surely you must have something better to do.0 -

He/she was right though.
How is extra money going to encourage the OP to get up in the morning?
There is no disability there that money will ease.0
