Amex cashback scam!!

Dont think right or wrong come into it. It's just what it is.
I agree - as long as the customers are aware of it they can make informed decisions. In this instance customers are in the dark as to how exactly the cashback is calculated and no information is provided in the advertisements or t&c. It is only when one scrutinizes the first statement that it become apparent. Transparency - is a right thing to have.0 -
If you want to follow it up, then try a formal complaint which you can then take to the ombudsman or take them to the small claims court.0

I expect it because that is the deal - I spend I get cashback

So now you're saying they're taking ALL the money you should have got as cashback, as opposed to simply failing to give you something they never actually agreed to give you in the first place? Hmmm. That IS different. If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything0 -
The 1p round down I can live with, the thing I find annoying about Amex is the DD collection dates.
My VISA / Mastercard CC are happy to take the DD on the same day the balance is due, thus allowing you to make maximum use of the credit facility.
Amex on the other hand, insist on collecting a full week in advance. I have queried this and they wont budge, saying its for my own benefit, incase something goes wrong during the DD process.
So for example, I can spend something on my card on the 3rd July, this amount is part of my June statement and therefore the DD payment comes out 24th July (although it is actually due arounf 1st Aug)
Trying to pay by Debit card is not much better either. They say you must allow 3 working days for payments to clear. Again, my Visa/Mastercasrd accounts post the payment the same day it was made.
I put up with it becuase of the benefits but once my year is over and I collect the cashbacks I have earned, I will most probably move to another CC, like those that curently pay a flat 1% and credit you that money each month.0 -

SHUT UP!:D
The last famous words of someone who has nothing constructive or productive to contribute ....so NO as long as people have the ability to think there will be words.:rolleyes:0 -
I'm confused about what you are trying to acheive td.
Did you want sympathy or was this some altruistic thing to warn people?
I do happen to agree with you having seen the "agregate" wording, however having had £200 from their recently from their 5% deal, I'm really not bothered.
So if you set out to warn people then I think the resounding response is that people really don't care.
If it was my own money being very slowy syphoned off then I'd be livid but as it's part of a bonus then I don't think people care.0 -

Wonder on what basis you came with the 10 p figure?
Will you still have the offer running if I said that I spent a million pounds @1% cashback each in 99p transactions and therefore instead of getting £1000 cashback I got NOTHING. Still interested?0
