I go through stages of not bothering with anything and I dont have an excuse other than laziness or enough is enough day in day out doing the same thing over and over.
I have to think of the end goal and possibly having 20 years of my working life being MF and a better retired life. Knowing my luck I wont manage to live that long and it will all be for nothing. Then again it will be for my kids future so not for nothing!

Just re reading my figures above I see that this year I now own just another 10% of my house. Just 82% left haha

£9380 off the capital, from £12,622 payments so that means paying £3242 in interest this year.

Pammy you really are amazing the way you tackle your mortgage. We have 2 full time wages coming in (not huge salaries mind), only one child and don't achieve a fraction of what you do.
    June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!

Pammy that is a really really enviable capital to interest ratio. Really it is an inspiration

:o aww thanks guys. Cath I dont have a lot of outgoings probably compared to some as I have got it down to the bare minimum. If I had another adult here my bills would probably double!
LP I was shocked at the ratio too. Being on a lower SVR this year has made such a difference. I dread when it goes up!

Today I have finally bought the kids a lappy for xmas through HUKD, obv through quidco 8% (it better track!) and using a 10% off code giving me another £35 off so it cost me £289 (if I get the cashback)

Counted up my sealed pot yesterday and my total for the year including £2 coins is £234. Not as much as I thought but the last month or so I havent been bothering putting anything in. Next year I really want to go for it. My VSP has been better, at the minute thats on £546 but had took out spending money from that for our holiday we had.

Talking of holidays I rang to book our park resorts holiday with my tesco vouchers today. I kept forgetting until the office hours were closed grrr. This has meant that the dates I wanted are now gone as I am using vouchers. I think this is wrong but cant argue with it. She basically said if you are using vouchers all of august in every park is booked. Just like that! She offered my the first week of summer hols, last week of July but it was £150 more than I had so I have had to book the week before which is the last week of school year. I didnt want to book in school time because of taking them out of school and having to use holiday at work when I could have used it when the kids were actually off but there you go. At least its the last week of school and they dont normally do a lot of things then anyway. I know as they get older I wont be able to do that.

I have also organised my calendar for childcare and holidays for next year. Works out about the same as I am paying monthly now and might get it down less if I can do a few more lieu days at work. Thats of course if the rates dont go up by much.

I might have an early night tonight, hmm, sounds good in theory!

Its not too bad, still get the odd ache now and then but hadnt bothered me all day today until about an hour ago but paracetomol has worked thankfully.
    Thanks for asking :)

The laptop sale didnt go through yesterday for some reason although it tracked on quidco. I thought I would try again going through tcb in case it didnt track second time on quidco and it has gone through this time. £25 tracked on tcb :D So thats a weight off my mind that that has been bought now. I need to go through what I have bought for other people and might even get them wrapped this weekend and see where I am there.

I have bought a few things this week and my spending money is drastically going down. :( I dont think I will be able to OP much this month but I WILL OP something even if its just £50. I couldnt bare not OPing something.
Got my £5 reward on Halifax as well and the total updated was £8 less than SS states so thats good. If I took £500 out of my savings and OP'd it would take me below £72k at the end of the year but I am trying to keep a bit back for my new car. That might have to go on hold, I'm not sure yet.

I dont know how the cashback for opening the Halifax ac works that I did through this site, does anyone know? I did it through the MSE email sent out.

Went to the bank today, got there at 4.58pm and they were already closed, so I had to carry all the heavy coins bags home. Will have to make another trip tomorrow morning. So annoying, I know its Friday but they should close on time

  • I love your tally for your surveys and clicks Pam. I'm going to do that from January, I hope you don't mind!

I'm putting the tree up and wrapping presents this weekend too. I was meant to be going to Peterborough Dogs tonight but I don't know if we are going. I can't stand the thought of spending the money!

OP'd £200 today which is my last and final payment of the year :T This has taken another month off the term and I now have 10 years and 4 months left :(
There is no way I will be able to OP the total I have done this year, I'm even overwhelmed myself!!
