How spooky is that? Its as if something or someone was trying to tell me that it was in there!!

First, that is so spooky. It really does seem like someone was trying to tell you something. That would freak me out:eek:

Secondly, as for your son try not to take it personally. He is reaching that awkward age where family isn't that important to him and he would rather be doing his own thing. As someone else said, wait until he is 20 and he will realise all the opportunities he has missed. Give him his space and he will come back in his own time. Its such a shame you can't find someone to take his place, if your sister took a trip to swansea could she get the passport in time?

    And finally, a massive

Hope you feel a bit brighter this morning Pammy.Try looking at it another way - your son is acting responsibly by putting his job first, he won't have thought of the emotions involved and probably thinks he's being grown up.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Plus, don't forget, he's a mere man, and they don't see things like we do at all. He won't have even thought about it being his last holiday with you.

Also, don't knock your overpayments at all honey. I may have paid a large amount this year, but i will only manage £4-5k this year due to me not working and we also reduced our payment by loads too so i could afford to be at home. I am still in the game but you will beat me this year with what you pay off. Its not a competition anyway. Each of us has to juggle our own circumstances and you should be proud you have had the discipline to work, study, raise 3 kids and have time to do all you do to overpay this year. A real inspiration.

I thought I would have to pay a cancellation fee but I will just lose the full price of his ticket (which I didnt really pay for anyway but a loss of £400 in deals grrr)
I am also worried about having the kids abroad on my own but I have got through worse I guess!

I thought I was ok and I have accepted the holiday situation but its the outcast from my son that I can't get over. I feel like I am nothing to him. He has stayed with his dad and not even come to visit and has excuse after excuse for reasons why he can't. The holiday is the last straw as I thought this would be the last one he came on with us and I was really looking forward to it.

I am probably thinking too much into it and I am trying to remember what it felt like to be that age. (20 years ago mind!!) My family arent that close really and maybe that has rubbed off. I'm ok for a while and then I think about it all again and I'm back in my hole. :(

On a funny side of it my other son wants to decorate his now solely occupied room! in blue purple black to look like an alien room  and wants to get rid of the bunk beds! nothing like waiting for the dust to settle! KIDS!

Kids have also decided that they want to do chores to get pocket money so they derived a list each and have a couple of little chores to do each day to get 50p a week (cheap child labour!!) I doubt they will keep it up for very long as they hate even picking their shoes up and moving them a metre further to the shoe cupboard! but its just simple things like putting the plates in the dishwasher or bringing the laundry down or clearing the table.

have done no money stuff whatsoever this week, i have really lost it at the moment. I have just transferred £9.75 from TCB and have £49.50 coming from quidco that I have waited a year for. I have sold another couple of signs on ebay so another couple of quid there but I am watching a fragrance (outspoken by Fergie) that I really like and want to treat myself for our holiday and I also need to get some new shorts for DD.

Hope your feeling better about things today. Try not to dwell on things with your eldest and focus on the positives, you are going to have a lovely holiday with the other 2 and get some real quality time with them. You will be fine on holiday on your own, and your eldest will soon realise his mistake when the realities of work kick in.

    Mortgage-free Glee!
When you are 16 you think you know it all. Then you get to 18 and think you know more. Then you get to 21 and realise how little you knew at 18, and then you get to 30 and realise what an idiot you were some of the time and how now you actually know something but still have a lot to learn.

    Thats sooo true!
Don't let it spoilt ur well earned holiday! You've achieved so much you really deserve it. I think when you're young sometimes you can't see the bigger picture...
Hope u get a bargain with your fragrance :)
