ok so end of month again and I have been trying to be very frugal!
did another carboot last weekend and made £165, and also have £75 from quanti and £100 from £2 jar :)
I am able to pay £600 OP this month  amazing!!
this will take my mortgage total to £84,136.77 and I have knocked off another 3 months off (now 14 months in total) My MFD is now Jan 2030
Total OP this year is £2800 which is amazing to me and waayyyyy over my estimate that I could do :D

Halifax balance this morning shows £84,736.82 so -£600 not come off yet shows £84136.82 so that naughty 5p is still showing lol

  • it seems as though you have been charged interest (or will be at the end of the month) five days worth of your balance being £600 higher!

This was the cause of the 5p difference before. I reckon you will have a 51p difference next month because of this.

I think this is happening because your OP isn't hitting your mortgage account on the first of the month because it is coming from a non Halifax account?

Have set up an OP of £300 to come off on the 1st, would have been more but my car MOT failed £600 down the drain :(

so expected total should now be £83,732.33
    total OP to date £3100
    total interest saved over £4000
EMFD December 2029 (one extra month off totalling 15 months deducted)

Didnt expect to be able to pay that much off this month with everything else that been going on (xmas etc) so pleased I still could.
Might be nothing next month tho lol
