Kaz - that was really funny :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Ok, I need instructions on how to load pics so I can share my lovely kitchen with you. Oh wait til you see it :D

Well, I think I have a decluttering mission. I have lost 9lbs and some of my clothes are too big :j:j:j I have some smaller sizes stashed up in the loft so I need to have a swap about. It struck me earlier in the week that when BF does move in there is nowhere for him to put his stuff :o So, I might take some before and after pics of the wardrobe ;)

Kasmeister, My mum is a freelance graphic designer and am sure she could do you some invites. Would you like her email address and you can tell her what you are looking for.

She will do them cheaply for you - shes doing this stuff on the side to help her save to go to Oz x

Can I please have 4 stars (in total) not finished my room, I do wonder if I ever will :rotfl: but the rest is done. I haven't took part in the selling one as it's not something I am doing or need to do at present.

    hex
vinegar should do it, some say salt but with special pieces I doubt I would want to risk it
    toochoosey I noticed that too
((hugs)) for those in Scotland who have children already off school, we have another 3 weeks left.
serena hope you get some peace once they go! Unfortunately many will be probably celebrating end of year at the minute.
soappie pleased to hear something is coming in :) especially as it's for your writing
SarahS sounds like your new job can be a little trying at times, hope the rescue mission is a success.
boddy ((hugs)) hope you manage some more sleep tonight
kazm you wouldn't think it was the same room! Well done!

Kids doing work, mine also don't have a set list. They do get roped in sometimes to do their room, sometimes it's easier and quicker to jst do it myself. If they bring stuff downstairs they are expected to take it back upstairs, we do sometimes have currently lego projects out but nothing more. DS2 knows how to do more than DS1 does. They are sat with rubbish they have created from sweets of Grandad etc around them and will be asked to remove that before bed. They do more than their Dad does. DSs rooms have actually been tidy all week, which is a shock, DS1 does like it tidy/organised but then if he looses something the lot gets thrown!

Well I have managed to fly a little, caught up on some sleep this afternoon :o again, dormouse syndrome has hit again. Unfortunately garden is the neglected bit at the minute, back one looks like a meadow! DPs supposed to be picking up the strimmer for me which is at his brothers tomorrow, I'll have to use that then the mower I think, so then it's just the time for me to do it, been raining all day which is just typical!
One day I might be more organised...........
    GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb

Congrats on the weight loss SSL, it is such a great feeling. I went shopping today, didn't buy anything exciting but it was nice to try things on and have them fit instead of coming home depressed and on et another diet.

Mrs Beatson, Sarah shattered said it all really. My boys have little jobs like clearing the table after tea, and they have to tidy up after themselves if they cover the bedroom floor with toys for example. If the playroom needs doing then I make them help but I wont do it all for them, cue many tears. I will not have children who abandon their shoes on the floor as they come in, and can't hang their own coats up. They rinse the sink after they have used it and put lids back on the toothpaste, etc, something my MIL neglected to teach my DH! Once they are older they will take turns with everyone else to empty the DW, etc but I agree with Pigpen about WM's and so on as a stage too far. Equally I don't expect any child (17yo step son included) to willingly and enthusiastically clean the toilets. He instead mows the lawn which I hate doing. Hope this makes sense, I took the instruction to add wine to the risotto to mean the person stirring rather than the dish.

Toots - I have finally finished the DR, so please may I have the Kitchen/DR star, thanks.

Well done on your weight loss.. BUT why are your clothes too big after losing 9lbs?

I have lost 2 stone and I am still wearing the same size.. NOTHING is any smaller.. This is what really annoyed me last time I lost weight (3.5 stone) I was still fitting in the clothes I had when I was 3.5 stone heavier so I can't actually see any benefit in weighing less when I must quite obviously look exactly the same!

toots - hope you're feeling better now

Mrs B - your family need to know that the work doesn't just do itself. As a child there were things that were just expected - making my own bed, putting my clean clothes away, laying the table, helping with the washing/drying up. Money could be earned by ironing/polishing/ dusting/hoovering/mowing etc. We were also expected to feed the cat and walk the dog (since they were ours!). Other things tended to get done if we were told 'if you help me with this we can do xyz sooner'. Once I went to boarding school, I found I helped much more at home as I wanted to free up my mum's time so she could spend it with me! (although that's a bit of a drastic solution to the problem... you could try the threat though ;))

kazm - sounds like we need to have the eastern flylady meet soon, so we can help you out with the wedding :D. There's a dramatic difference between the upstairs and the downstairs of your house!

soappie - great news on plan B!

jo - I think you need to work out how much make-up one person can wear :p Is any of it stuff you could give as presents? Same goes for swinstie...

    SS - it's a tough job, but I'm sure that you're making a difference.

FFP - can you send the kids round to someone else's house to burn off all this energy? Or at least get them generating electricity with it ;)

rose - I'm sorry you haven't been able to make the most of your time away. Have you been eating properly? It can affect your energy levels. I find that although sugar can give me a quick energy boost, it usually leaves me feeling more lethargic so I try to avoid it. If you're feeling down, try to get your OH to take you for a quick walk round the block and see whether that helps. I hope your parents are impressed by the flying you've been doing!

For those of you having trouble sleeping, you do need to declutter the bedroom. Also reduce the amount of electrical equipment in the bedroom, as the electro-magnetic radiation can cause disturbed sleep patterns. Remove TVs/DVD players/computers/phone chargers/radios/mains alarm clocks and you may find it helps. Have a look at this too.

I think I've lost more, but thats what the scales are saying.

It's very bizarre that you are still wearing the same size after a 2 stone loss. Did you measure yourself? I'll measure myself on Monday and let you know how many inches I've lost.
